Out to Alcalá de Jucar in Spain today, rode the Jucar valley.
Ridden just over 3,000 kms in the last three weeks
No worries with Sorn'ing anything here for winter, as no salt is used on the roads ....

Rode down some country lanes to see what the aux lights are like. The photo doesn’t really go them justice! Didnt know that house in the distance was there, but I bet they know I was! They are brilliant lights in every sense of the word!

And when something comes the other way and you turn them off, it plunges the road ahead into darkness.
I learned that the hard way years ago.

Turn them off? Off? You'll be expecting BMW car drivers to dip their headlights next! The Spin Doctor wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 3:34 pmAnd when something comes the other way and you turn them off, it plunges the road ahead into darkness.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Years ago I fitted one of the new (then) LED bulbs into a bike. Incredible bright light but no beam pattern to it just flood lit everything. I had to tilt the headlight down to stop blinding oncoming traffic but what that did was made your eyes adjust to the immediate light in front of you, but made everything beyond that total blackness, so it was actually self defeating and totally useless as a headlight! The Spin Doctor wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 3:34 pmAnd when something comes the other way and you turn them off, it plunges the road ahead into darkness.

Mine comes with a mahoosive LED light bar as standard, I've not ridden in the dark to see if it's any good or not

I fitted a (£35 chinese copy) LED daymaker to my Sportster and it was literally brillliant! Best value aftermarket upgrade i've ever done on any bike! I suspect your OEM headlight will be equally as good...MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 11:45 amMine comes with a mahoosive LED light bar as standard, I've not ridden in the dark to see if it's any good or not

No pics this time, but,it's a lovely day here,so I took the H1 out for an unexpected blatter. The roads were a bit crap in places, but it was nice to get out for a short while. The past few weeks and the rain have been pretty rubbish. Here's hoping there may be a few more good days before the salt goes down.

Hope you do. It's been wet here every day till today/this weekend. And Herts Highways are straight to the salt. It's cold but not cold enough. I'm sure they get paid shares in the salt or something. They were salting when it was 7c last winter.Skub wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 1:36 pm No pics this time, but,it's a lovely day here,so I took the H1 out for an unexpected blatter. Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Full day and 70-odd miles on the lanes of Hertfordshire with 3 of the local TRF members - was wetter than a mermaid's minky but still top fun, some great lanes, suprisingly not a single off but loads of laughs and some delicious soup and cake for lunch in a lovely quaint tea room in the middle of nowhere
No pics unfortunately apart from this really dull and crap one that doesn't show how fun some of the going was, or even include me or my bike
Was my first time out on my old orange bike since I've re-sprung it and it was absoloutely excellent, so much so that I'm struggling to think of an ocassion when I'd prefer to be on the TE300 , so she'll likely be on her way to a new owner as soon as I get off my arse and get an ad together

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
No pics as I didn't have time, but lots of rain in the last week means the salt's been washed away and it's dry and reasonable weather for Nov today so I managed to snatch a quick hour or so to wobble about.
First impressions were I was riding a knife edge, attached to a rocket After about half hour it all felt a bit more normal again. But always find it eye opening how even just over a month has you out of practice.
Anyway about 35ish miles and run the tank down to 10 miles range and then refilled with super in case that's it. Hope not, but with temps dropping and Herts council having itchy trigger fingers I reckon they'll salt this week. If not will get back out later in the week looking at the forecast.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Heavy rain washed away the salt and yesterday the strong winds dried the roads. I haven't had a good run on the Zed for a while,so out it came for a couple of hours. I'll need to wash it,as there are quite a few rivers on some roads, but its a minor victory riding in late November.

Managed to get out today to try the new risers and make sure all was well. Cool enough, but nice to see dry roads and the sun for a change.
