I've watched five of these now, probably not for the last time. I've been trying to place the narrator's voice and it's come to me - he sounds like a gentle west-country Hannibal Lecter, sort of Anthony Hopkins crossed with Robert Fripp.

I watched all 6 again yesterday. So many questions. When he comes home, he says he has a family (I think you see them) but what happened to the woman that appeared a fair bit earlier - the one swimming and looking wistful on the ferry? Etc.
I think Elliott B is the narrator. He had a web site some years ago and talked of assembling another series, but the site seems to have disappeared.

It's a while ago now. In 2013 he had an email address that was codachrome@mac...but can't find any web addy. (Codachrome was to be the title of the new production. I suppose it was to be a coda to Road Dreams, in Kodachrome).

Useless informatioin for you. A few years back in my role as an international digitiser of rare materials,I had to go to Nottingham Uni to visit their archives. The archives are (or were) housed in the old Granada TV studios and the foyer that was used for Crossroads is now their reception. When I visited their archives, they are housed in what was previously the studio that was used for Dale Winton's Supermarket Sweep. Their digitisation studio, where I performed my magic, was in the old green room!
