How easy would something like this be to fit?
Ooh - they look nice. They'd be an absolute doddle to fit.

I do wonder why they weren't offered as an accessory. They have riser for the previous gen that you could buy through Yamaha, but not for this gen of bike.

Adjustable risers. Lower the bars, and also move them forward.

I suspect he's casting aspersions on the looks of the new MT-09. Something like 'hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down'...

Don't take it personally... :)

The new headlight on the MT09 is awesome, got that Iron Man look! Lower bar position sounds promising, and I'm curious about what the SP version might offer, maybe electronic suspension like the MT10SP?

I'll hold judgement till i see one in the flesh, next week probably. It does seem to be all about the headlight.

I don't understand why the 'naked' styling is only applied to the front half of the bike. The high pillion seat and bit that sticks out to put the lights and number plate on is as ugly as ever.

Fairingless I suppose... those number plate hangers do look shite and the promo pics usually leave off the plate. We all tidy the back ends, but that can cause wet riding problems.

You think the 1998 R1 is the pinnacle of motorcycle design?

I owned one and it was very good for 1998, but the 2000 GSXR750 is a better bike, which was then bettered by something else etc.

From an aesthetic point of view, obviously a sports bike from today would be measurable 'better' in a number of ways. The old ones look better tho'

I've no doubt that current bike's are better products, but I don't like the style of the vast majority of them,in fact I'd call most of them ugly.

I don't believe anyone doubts that bikes get more technologically advanced and 'better' year on year, it's just the styling that hit a high point in the 1990s (and being charitable, early 2000s) and (for the most part) has slowly declined since. But dynamically and by pretty much any metric you care to apply modern bikes are significantly 'better' than their 1990s counterparts.

It's just that most of the modern stuff looks a Bit Shit...
