Of course that's the same for the Christian boys as well but at least there's an individual at the top of that pile.

Corbyn is the Tommy Robinson of the Labour Party....or he was before he was banned from standing as an MP because of his warped views.
If you align yourself with Tommy Robinson, or Jeremy Corbyn, both opposite sides of the same coin, then it is aligning with known and documented extremists who are both unwelcome in any mainstream political party because of their extremist views.
I know that people from both sides will want to claim that Robinson and Corbyn aren't racist or anti-semetic, but they'd be wrong and should go on a racism/prejudice awareness course to understand just how far they are away from the sensible centre ground and how they are sympathising with hate.

I live in a town of about 150,000. We have at least 70 different christian sects, all of whom claim to have the *right* interpretation. The largest one covers 160 acres. In contrast, we have one each devoted to the Muslim, Buddhist & Hindu myths.

The minority that does want to live under a theocracy should not be tolerated in any way. If they will not comply with our laws they must find somewhere where there is a theocracy they will be happy to live under.Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 11:25 amI would agree that most of the religious leaders of Islam do not agree with most of our freedoms. Some of our Christian religious leaders don't either.irie wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 10:48 am
We have spent centuries dividing Church and state thereby asserting the primacy of secular law as the foundation of our democracy.
The central tenet of Islam is the primacy of religious law over secular law.
Therein lies the irreconcilable conflict between the teachings of Islam and the central foundation of our democracy.
Millions in the Islamic world do not believe in free speech, freedom of religion, democracy, a secular state, free enterprise, and human rights, but these are precisely the principles which are the basic foundations of our Western Democracies.
That does not mean that your average punter, Chtistian, Moslem, or any other flavour, wants to be ruled by a theocracy, even one of his choice. Most want to get on with their life, without god-botherers interfering.
We should absolutely not change any of our laws to encompass any of their religious based demands.

Re: In todays news...
Twitter showed a lot more antisemitic stuff and pro-Palestine supporters arrests than the MSM did, no surprises there though, and I didn't like that they initially branded all centotaph visitors as right wing protesters, although they did change that branding later. But yes a a lot more peaceful than initially feared.Potter wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 12:09 pm I'm genuinely happy today to hold my hand up and say I was wrong, some of us do have the integrity to do it.
I expected a lot more trouble with 300k people on a protest march, but it appears that the vast majority were well behaved and the police did an excellent job of keeping any agitators (especially from Tommy Robinsons mob) away so there was no spark to kick it all off.
I think there was an element of terrorist supporters but I expect they were only minor sympathisers, the proper ones will keep out of sight.
So fair play, it was a largely very peaceful protest march.

No doubt the police will be tracking down those in the "Free Palestine" rally acting unlawfully. For example, acting in contravention of Section 12(1)(a) of the Terrorism Act 2000:
Hamas is a proscribed organisation.Added in 2019 the clause makes it illegal to express “an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organisation, and in doing so is reckless as to whether a person to whom the expression is directed will be encouraged to support a proscribed organisation”.

Not necessarily the same. But now you mention it, how could Palestine be "freed" other than by Israel ceasing to exist? And if that were the case by who/what other than Hamas? Interesting question.Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 4:25 pm"Freeing Palestine" is not the same as supporting Hamas.irie wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 4:12 pm No doubt the police will be tracking down those in the "Free Palestine" rally acting unlawfully. Re: In todays news...
I saw on the news that the idiots were shouting summat like "you're not English " at the non white police.
Was rather poignant that the day was all about those who fell in the wars.
Just Googled and about 130,000 Indian and west Indian soldiers died in WW2 fighting for the UK
The idiots weren't complaining that they weren't English
Racists always forget how many 'darkies' died for their freedom.

It looked like they were shouting at all the Police and it was “You’re not English any more.” The chants may have varied over time.Yorick wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 8:27 pm I saw on the news that the idiots were shouting summat like "you're not English " at the non white police.
