Interesting 'elision' there 'If you hate America/Israel'. :hmmm:

PS. Estimates are that 1/5th of Americans are illiterate/functionally illiterate. Yet, they can vote. (Don't laugh, similar estimates in Europe put the figures there at 1/3rd - they have a vote too).

So. Get used to the people in charge having been put there by the illiterate/functionally illiterate as they swing the vote. Get used to politicians trawling for the votes of the people that can't tie their own shoelaces. Murdoch twigged it years ago. Welcome to the wonders of democracy. In the end the stupids will run the world (boom!) and Trump is a glorious advert for that.

Well it's an idea. It's not working out too well at the moment though. :(

Back in the really good old days it'd have been more like only 1/5 could read at all and they did OK.

I suppose back then you also couldn't vote if you were a woman, black, Jewish, poor, had your eyes to close together...

Not much excuse for being illiterate in the UK now though.

Before 1832 you couldn't vote if you didn't own property or pay certain taxes. There were also things like 'rotten boroughs'...not sure they were really good old days but giving votes to people that don't have a clue what they're voting for or whose votes are simply bought is a bit :(

I'd also be a bit tempted to eliminate people who can't be arsed to vote too. Couldn't be bothered to use your vote the last two times you could have - local, national, referendum? Bzzzzzt! If it means nowt to you, you don't have one.

Wifey has no interest in politics she just asks me who we're voting for. Which reminds me, I need to register to vote.

Well that seems fair enough. Another triumph for Emmeline Pankhurst and the battle for women's suffrage.

(I did know someone who said she'd vote for Ted Heath because 'he's cuddly'. :eh: I don't think she'd have thrown herself under the King's horse for the right to do that though).

Who in their right mind would vote for such a POS?

Wasn't once enough!

The world has definitely gone bonkers, or at least the USA has.
I would imagine the morons who elected Biden & promptly saw 30% wiped off their pension funds are having second thoughts about their choices... especially given the rise in their pension funds under Trump (+40%).

Name another US President who used the Justice Dept to silence his opposition & attempt to remove him from ballots?

Raging inflation*
War on the energy/oil industry
Multiple interest rate increases.. which directly impact the stock market & therefore pension funds
Increase in mortgage rates has crippled the ability of people to buy homes etc (2% under Trump, now 8%)

*Biden quotes "Core inflation"... which doesn't include energy or food costs.. so is absolutely meaningless bullshit. True inflation in the US is running at least 20%.. & over 100% on many food items.

All of that applies to the Uk along with most of the developed world. Is that Biden’s fault as well. The economy will do what it does. The governments can tinker with it but they can’t control it.
