Proverbial eye of the storm!
Or is it the 'wind' equivalent of the Sun shining on the righteous?

It's a bit damp here in Chesterfield, but still t-shirt temps for us double hard northern bastards.

Calm at the moment, but we've got a lot of water in the garden and its getting closer to infrastructure than I'd like.

Filly's just driven along the A4 towards Reading.
Some flooding, including one with a low sporty car as a pond ornament.

Wet and a bit breezy, the roads were nice and quiet coming to work.
The Orwell Bridge is closed, in my opinion unnecessarily, as it isn't that windy here.

There was a medium sized puddle on one of the roads on my commute this morning, IMO it was bad enough to shut down all the schools in at least the surrounding 20 mile radius but alas they have not and i have had to come into work...
It's fine here in Bristol, light wind and a little bit rainy.

Cornwall has survived, just a bit tattered around the edges. Not too bad Chez CJ, the north coast seems to have had it worse.

Re: Storm Ciaran : All OK
It was forecast that we were all going to die down here by drowning or wind damage . Despite the forecasted Hurricane , it has only been gusting about a Force 8 , which is fairly usual.
XE weather suggests Force 11 later so I am going to be walking the dog, with him tied to the E-bike. Nothing will blow him away attached to it ...

Must have passed over my house in the middle of last night - biblical rain, ridiculous, never seen anything like it - woke up to dampness coming up through the dining room floor FFS

Re: Storm Ciaran : All OK
I've been kipping in the vicarage at the country pile (not far from Goodwood) for a few days.
Last night was like trying to sleep in a washing machine.
Today it's travelling home again, home again, jiggety-jig.

Re: Storm Ciaran : All OK
The field ditch down the side of our garden has come up about a foot and half over night.
Another foot and a half or so and it'll be swamping our sewage system Fingers crossed it won't, however it depends on how much the fields can soak up or not. (This was taken at about 8am, I checked just now and it's gone down about an inch, maybe 2 in the last 2 hours so fingers crossed).

Just wet here in Herts and a bit windy. Any floods/puddles are from the weeks of rain rather than a specific storm.

In Hull (yes I know what people think of the place) we've had more rain than usual over the last few weeks so the ground is squelchy. A few places have had local flooding but nothing like back 16 years ago. Regarding wind or gales, we're experiencing a mild breeze with gusts in the mid 20s mph.
Today, we have bright sunshine.
