Be wary of any gear that has a high collar, make sure it fits under your outer gear. If a zip together two piece suit, try that too.

Also, if you buy a heated item powered from the bike and you wear a one piece oversuit, you'll need to get the lead in somehow. If it has a two-way zip, that might be an option. Otherwise, a hole in a pocket inner. For my one piece, I made up an extension lead.

I've got two heated jackets, one from Keis and another from Blazewear. The Keis has a softshell quality to it which is great for off the bike, it's also better at retaining heat but the thicker collar means I can't fully zip up my jacket. The Blazewear is thinner and feels lesser quality but it fits easier under any jacket and has better heat output.

I've got a pair of Gerbing heated gloves which connects to both jackets. They're warm enough to burn your hands slightly - unfortunately I can't control the heat setting on the gloves because I'm not using them with a Gerbing jacket (my own fault - I got the gloves cheap from a mate).

Heated vest/jacket is the first thing, then gloves if needed.

When I bought mine (an EXO2 no longer available), I was shocked how hot it got (it would then switch off until it got cool, then heat up again - like a heat massage).

But even more shocking that it showed how much heat you can lose when riding.

Fitted the power cables Sunday and gave it a test today in 7oc
Decent. Provides good warmth. Low and medium are good, i out it on high for 5 mins and it’s proper warm.

Looking forward to see how it performs once it’s proper chilly.

Only complaint is that there are not heating elements on the tops of the shoulders.
