And it's still my favourite to this day.
I used to get a lift to Uni in an AC Cobra (not a Shelby). It wasn't really a car for a Yorkshire winter :D - the wipers were useless, we were still frantically wiping condensation from the inside when we arrived etc etc. But...I'd really like one of the modern versions. Lovely looking things.

Out of interest, there are 2 Matra Ranchos left which are taxed, with 8 total SORNed. A rare car - not a surprise. Doesn’t make it valuable tho.

So far every single car on this thread has been fucked right off after Cheb posted the pic of the 917 longtail.
The Lancia Delta Intergrale and Stratos are nice, but at least a lap behind.

Same car, but Alitalia colours. Remember watching the RAC rally in the late 70s and the works Stratos entries made everything else look very tame indeed.

I had two Opel Mantas, both 1977 1.9 SRs, the second one was better than the first (which are it's automatic gearbox), I think I had the second one for about 10 years, eventually an exhaust valve burnt out on it and I couldn't be bothered to repair it as I'd got bored of it (and it was about 21 years old)

My favourite car from my early driving days, a 2.0 Manta GTE.

They're a lovely car to drive, loads and loads better than a Capri.

Or the Matra Rancho - which probably has no place in this thread

That was wifey's car - and in that colour.

Someone mentioned the Lotus Europa - there is one that drives around here. a) it is tiny b) it is very low to the ground
