TBH mate, i wouldn't have expected a lot more in the middle of October...sure we get a nice day sometimes... but generally, this isn't exactly unexpected.
True. Doesn't make it any more pleasant though.

Just east of Edinburgh here and we are doomed. Not enough notice to build our ark and the gods are angry. Just been watching the dark clouds roll in what is about 5 hours early to what the Met office predicted. Bright side is a day off tomorrow

I see the Met Office have issued a red warning for rain and floods in part of Scotland.

My daughter lives in Dollar which is east of Stirling. Where she lives is not prone to flooding but the river does overflow so looks like she's going to have a couple of 'interesting' storm Babet days.

That area not full of streams coming of the hills behind? Used to play a lot around there in my 125 days. Bet Rumbling Bridge looks impressive just now.

Dodged most of the predicted rain in northern Italy this week, even finding a fair bit of sun. Then on Wednesday the heavens opened....

Luckily, we found some warm and dry places to eat and drink.

Ducks in the river by my house are having a great old time. The recent heavy rain must've uprooted loads of bug s or something cause they're merrily scooting about the surface of the water, dabbling away and quacking their little hearts out.

It'd be endearing, if I didn't already know ducks are super rapey.

I'd be ok if it was a proper fresh winter with snow, but it's the dirty grey skies, rain and constant road filth that makes it miserable, and now I know even the ducks are rapists it's turned me off even more :(

I'd love to, Chamonix at Christmas was lovely and I'd love to go again, but we've got a massive family event happening in Dec and Jan, and I'm still actually getting paid to be in certain places at certain times, so I'm not quite as free as I'd wish.

One day.
Although the story of my life seems to be that I can have all the time in the world and no money....or enough money and no time - not both.
Totally get that. We're not quite like Chamonix - but I believe the ski area is bigger here (connected to Les Arcs :D ) and lots of other places drivable for a day!!

If you end up with time in March/April, I can tell you if the snow is worth it - sometimes spring is awesome, sometimes its just a bit soggy!! LOL

Think my daughter in Dollar near Stirling has dodged the Babet bullet.

Also looking pretty nice tomorrow in southern West Sussex. Mrs is meeting her pals at Petworth House so I'll be eMTB'ing on the South Downs but after all the recent rain will be pretty muddy though ...

Was strange indeed down south today- a mixture of brilliant sunshine, a lot of mist early on, and some absoloutely torrential showers, none lasted very long though so a great day was had on the very soggy lanes of Southern England

This is me and a mate at approx 09:30 this morning near Petersfield- no special photo effects, all just the weather :)
