Re: Covid - newsworthy
I'm definitely having a COVID booster, if available. Getting COVID wasn't exactly life threatening for me as I'm fairly healthy, but it's been flipping inconvenient. Those dastardly Chinese!!
I have to say if you were on the vulnerable list I'd have the shot without question - it's quite easy to get yourself hospitalised with these sort of pulmonary issues.

Re: Covid - newsworthy
Didn't even know there's a pneumonia jab!
Spoke to my sister yesterday and she ran through the list of who's had covid in the family recently. Basically, everybody under 70 - including an 18 month old. My niece visited my sister and complained she felt grotty. Sister (who is a bit unwell/vulnerable at the mo) made her take a test....+ve. Niece works in health*.
* I assume that they get jabbed irrespective of age.

Agreed, especially bearing in mind that Covid is an inflammatory disease.DefTrap wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 10:53 am I'm definitely having a COVID booster, if available. Re: Covid - newsworthy
Had my flu jab last Saturday at the local Health Centre production line - 1500-1600 jabs in a day. None of this 'have a seat' malarkey, they tell you to turn up in short sleeves, in, jab, out in about 30s. Got Covid jab booked for tomorrow. Got to drive a few miles to get the Covid one, dunno why they can't do double jabbin' at the local Health Centre.Supermofo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 1:02 pmNeither did I till I got there, I had Flu in the left arm Pneumonia in the right!

Re: Covid - newsworthy
Mine was similar but smaller scale. Left side of the corridor was Flu, right side Covid. As they gave me 3 they said Flu, pneumonia and Covid was probably too much in 1 day so had to go back a week later for the Covid.Count Steer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 1:24 pmHad my flu jab last Saturday at the local Health Centre production line - 1500-1600 jabs in a day. Re: Covid - newsworthy
I've not seen anything mentioned my side about the booster - I'd totally be up for having it if I can, but Covid just doesn't seem to mentioned anymore!!!

Not this version ...
Trouble with covid seems to be that it affects people so differently. Filly got it, kindly passed it on. For her, a head cold. For me, flu like symptoms, gastric issues, etc -and still giving me grief (tiredness) weeks later. But the same virus.

Re: Covid - newsworthy
It's the main reason I want the booster (hopefully) to stop me getting it - I don't get symptoms, so could be walking around sharing it with no idea. Unless I test every couple of days, and there's no way I can afford to buy that many tests!!!

Don't the vaccines just stop you being very ill, we can still catch it and spread if we show no symptoms. I may of missed something here.

Being pushed to the over 65s, the vulnerables and their carers. But I'm pretty sure le GPs will give you a prescription or le pharmacist will probably do it there and then if you ask nicely.

I'll dig out the previous paperwork and ask next time I go down
I'm older but not so fat, however I'm sure my BMI still puts me as eligible!!

I thought it was a little bit preventative too?
