Swam 720 metres after healthy brekky.

Then walked 6.44 miles.

Had a couple of cheeky pints.

Swam 840 metres.

Now rewarding mesen with another cold beer.

This training malarkey is bloody hard work :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Our family trip to Naples fell through, which pissed me off as I was looking forward to it, but kids are trying to buy houses etc. But i have just booked us all a 3 night stay on a airbnb villa, with its own pool, in Abufeira and got flights out at 7 in the morning and landing home at 7 in the evening from Stanstead. Chuffed doesn't even begin to cover it!! 8-) :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Off shortly for a 200 mile round trip to leave middle son to the airport for his return flight to Australia.

It's a cold, miserable, rainy day. Suits my mood perfectly. Man I hate goodbyes.

Aye, me too- feel for you, and it's reminded me of when I dropped my eldest boy up at the Army Foundation College 250 miles north of where we lived , way back when he was 16 , - probably not the same at all as you're feeling as I knew it was only going to be months before I would get to see him again but that was a long and lonely drive home for me

Same for me.
Me and my lad became good mates through training, we ran together, worked out together, rode bikes together, did days out together, etc.
It was an absolute privilege watching him grow up, get fit and become his own man.

I really missed him when we dropped him off to start his army career and I was running the lanes on my own, it didn't feel the same.

In Athens till Sunday then off on a cruise for a week.

Fingers crossed attempt number 6 goes according to plan.

1. Covid cancelled everything
2. Ditto
3. New ship wasn’t ready
4&5 a back to back, this time we caught Covid in Barcelona.

So fingers crossed.

Bought the winning ticket for Saturday's $1.4Billion lottery. (actually a mere pittance of $405M for cash up front, minus Fed taxes)
Pre-flighted the ZRX11 for Sunday: checked oil, added air to tires, lubed chain & filled the tank with blue juice.
Checked tire pressure on ST, added some air to those too.

Moved another two barrow loads of river rock from planter in back yard to the side yard.

Did about 20 miles on the Monster!! I know, I know, that's nothing. Just round all the little bits of resort up here with a final run to about halfway down the mountain so that I could try and give it some welly coming back up!! Wanted to try and give the engine some stick close enough to home to be able to be rescued if necessary!! LOL

She wasn't half bad. Need to tension the chain a bit more in the morning before I head down (the vibration in the left pad is less, but think it's chain related, so will try a bit more as it does look a bit loose!!), but it really wasn't bad. And I'm grinning from ear to ear

Stupidly didn't take any photos - doubly annoying as I met a mate in the cafe up here and she was on her MT07! LOL But, hey. Tomorrow I'll try stop for photos :D :D

I'm still grinning! Have text some of my mates in the valley to meet tomorrow - they are all away!  But, my best mate with the food shop will be open, so I'm heading down anyway!! Probably going down sunday too. Heading into work monday with a hurty shoulder :(

Went for a walk with the hound in the morning. Did some gardening, then braved the M25 to the hallowed closed gate community of Cobham to collect two rugs bought on Ebay. Cost me 1/4 of what they would have cost new. A carbon fibred with aero kit fitted Porsche GT3 on the drive in front of 5 garages. Their entrance hall is bigger than the ground floor of my house.... Ah well, good on them for affording that and enjoying it. Happily back at home with two nice woollen rugs that the wife is very happy with. Played with hound in the garden, finished off two sermons for tomorrow and will put robes in the car. Only 4 services tomorrow, with no evening service.

Been on the train to Sheffield, had some beer, ate my own body weight in Japanese food, drunk a load of cocktails, drunk some more beer. Got the train home, went to 'spoons, walked the rest of the way home and am now sat with a pint of JD and coke watching bog trotters beat the sweaties.

Gym, leg day.
Felt physically sick after squats and had to go and sit down before I actually did spew, I don't know why big leg exercises do that to people, but it's not uncommon.

Finished with 250 reps of right/left cross on the heavy bag, then staggered home.

The weather's been miserable around here for the last few weeks, but we've got a few really nice early autumn days this week,so I was out on the pushbike earlier. It's been a few weeks since I last went for a pushbike ride so I made the most of it & did 61km in autumn sunshine

Image

I might even cycle to the beach mid week
