When I did them on my old K1200 I had problems with the dust seals.
The first set just wouldn't push in and I ended up damaging them, the next pair I had to Dremel some material from the OD to get them in the top of the forks.
The oil seals were easy.

I know it sounds a bit poncy, but I always prefer to get genuine OE over aftermarket stuff, unless the after-market is demonstrably "better" than OE, irregardless of price. Noticed last week a slight weep on the fork seals - seals serve little purpose on these other than to keep the lube within the tubes but need sorting nonetheless. Contacted the selling dealer and they have authorised a local indy to do them for me FOC, pretty fair I think as fork seals are generally fair wear and tear.
As has been pointed out, it's a 1/2 hr repair.
The forks dont actually 'do' anything apart from attach wheel to bike, the oil is just for a bit of lubrication. Just make sure it doesnt drip onto the pads and you're golden!

To be fair if it hadn't came from a dealer I would have just ran a cleaner down the leg - probably just a bit of crap in seal. They offered, so I accepted.....

Seals replaced today.
Not sure local indy is too familiar with telelever as wanted to totally drop out the forks and replace oils too, not sure he believed me when I told him it's only for lube purposes and not damping!
Going forward will likely do all maintenance myself, especially if @Rockburner didn't have the Abba stand pinched in his recent theft......

Yes - as far as I can see, the ABBA is still there all complete so whenever you're down this way.

Few times I've rode the bike I felt that the front brakes were lacking a little (lot!).
Decided today to pull out the pads and take a look - Goldfren FFS! Straight to the bin and ordered a set of EBC HH, which I tend to gravitate to for road use pads.

If the calipers are Tokicos I highly recommend swapping for Brembo (are they EVO* or not on the R1100S?) I've always found organic/oem compound best for road use. HH need heat into them to work best and often in normal riding the just dont get enough imo.

I never knowingly tried organic pads. The last few road only bikes I've had have always been fitted with EBC HH and I've found that once bedded in they work nicely, perhaps because they've all been heavy'ish bikes?
Brembo come well recommend for this bike but at double the price of EBC.....

Might be worth a strip and new fluid. The hoses are already braided and it's nonABS.
