But I think Demo is right, it was probably just some retarded farmers boy who has grown up fingering his sister and playing around with Range Rovers think they’re the muts nuts, and had been put up to it by an older but similar retarded farmer type.

Re: Sycamore Gap
Police have released an arrested man, in his 60s, on bail after the Sycamore Gap tree was felled.
Northumbria Police said the man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage on Friday and was released on bail pending further inquiries.
A relative posted a picture of the retired lumberjack at home with his grandson as they denied his involvement in the felling.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “A male in his 60s was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.”
A boy, 16, who was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage on Thursday was later released on bail.
It came as police have seized a large chainsaw as they searched a barn closeby to where the Sycamore Gap tree stood.
Officers searched Plankey Mill farm, a property inhabited until recently by Walter Renwick, 69, who has taken to social media to vehemently deny his involvement in the cutting down the tree.

Plankey mill has been a wild camping site since the 1940’s allowing generations of family’s to enjoy the wilderness the way it’s supposed to be. The current owner Walter is facing homelessness and his land being taken away due to sheer greed from national trust and church’s. We just want Walter to be able to live out the rest of his life on his land thriving off what his 3 generations of family have done before him. Please help us to save this amazing camp site and allow many more people to continue enjoying it

I wonder how many burglaries have not been investigated since the tree was cut down.

Re: Sycamore Gap
I was wondering if you could forensically link said chain saw to the tree....trees have DNA after all.
Seems a bit far though. I'm sure there are rape and murder cases more deserving of DNA lab time!

Re: Sycamore Gap
I think Plod just wait for Joe Public on Social Media to do their investigationing for them and then go after that.
In case there is any doubt - I am also a curmudgeonly giffer -and- I own a chain saw. Although I doubt i would have made such a good job of it, and I have an alibi that shows I was at least 600 miles away.

Re: Sycamore Gap
Retried owner who had his home where he was born and his lifetime livelihood taken away from him by the land owners of both Plankey Mill and Sycamore Gap, after a lengthy public battle with lots of support for him from locals and generations of camping families who used the popular Plankey Mill Campsite, owns a chainsaw, is a bit more accurate. I can certainly see why Plod came-a-calling! That said, it apparently caused a huge amount of upset all round so its quite possible another chain saw owning angry at the NT and Jesuits did itMrLongbeard wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 8:03 am Retired tree man owns a chainsaw shocker, that's some good detective work right there.

Just remember, it's definitely due to the degradation of society and young kids having no respect these days. Never you mind all that complicated back story bolloxTaipan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 10:23 amRetried owner who had his home where he was born and his lifetime livelihood taken away from him by the land owners of both Plankey Mill and Sycamore Gap, after a lengthy public battle with lots of support for him from locals and generations of camping families who used the popular Plankey Mill Campsite, owns a chainsaw, is a bit more accurate.
