Police Scotland pays out £60,000 to officers over beard ban

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-67005300

Let's assume a fair share of 15 bags each, that's not a bad day's work for shaving your face. In fact, for that much you could wax my face, along with back, crack and sack.

It gets more bizarre...

"However, concerns were raised about the equality impact of the policy on LGBT and other officers." - You need a beard to don the bumming hat?

"They are extremely upset. They've had to go off sick because somebody had told them to shave, which sounds ridiculous" - Ridiculous? You reckon? FFS, going sick as you've been asked to shave?

"It's got far reaching consequences for them as an individual." - Yep, fifteen grand is far reaching indeed.

I suspect that is just poor reporting and the equality issue is actually related to religious reasons and has naff all to do with LGBT offcers but rather the other officers in the quote above.

If there was ever a national no vote , which there won't be just yet, it would show the world what the UK folk think of their current crop of arseoles. If may cause some embarrassment, possibly, maybe.

Mugging us off with a vote is almost a pisstake. I will never vote for any of these horrible bastards, as long as I've got an hole in my arse and if that means I have no say, so be it.

This country is a shit hole and it's only gonna get worse with current thinking.

Thank you and goodnight. 🙂

Then in that case your opinion literally doesn't matter to them. Politicians DGAS what you think if you're never gonna vote.

You can STFU basically, from a government POV. Or not. They don't care  ;)

Everything about her is demanding and "I know my rights", even though she's literally not up to it.
I've been awake about fifteen minutes but I could finish my coffee right now, put my trainers on and pass that fitness test, and I'm an old duffer.

However, I'm going to wait until I'm physically not up to it and then go for it myself, it's part of my retirement strategy.
I'm going to demand the right to attend the UK special forces selection process, I will turn up in dungarees, purple hair and identify as a fat woman who is twenty-four years old, and then if I fail on the hills I will demand to pass a different test, an easier one.

Then I'll claim compensation and add it to my retirement fund.
My daughter is ex army. She was battalion PTI. Her biggest issue was she wouldn't sleep with her Sgt, so was basically left to rot on guard duty for 6 months until she told them to shove it.
This is a sad sad story...

Funnily enough, daughter was RA as well!
Didn't get many problems at Larkhill, but she was top of her class!

I'm currently not registered to vote after the move to Spain but will register as a postal vote when I can be arsed to dig out my British passport (I identify as Irish these days). I get to vote in my old constituency which is a very safe Tory seat, at the moment.

That New Zealand passed last year https://www.euronews.com/next/2022/12/1 ... generation, does he not have any ideas of his own.
FFS The experiment has already been done, the results are in, it doesn't work.
The Americans tried banning alcohol, people still drank and a lot of criminals got rich.
The rest of the world looked on and decided to ban other recreational drugs, people still use recreational drugs and a lot of criminals are getting rich.
When will they learn?

It's beyond sad, it's fucking outrageous! Heads should be rolling.
The senior rank that bombarded her with thousands of texts needs to be locked up forever, he's not safe around women, and the senior officer that forced her to sleep in the car out of fear should be locked up and then put on the sex offenders register.

However, I also blame society at large, I blame the lack of decent values, the overflow of pornography, OnlyFans and even Instagram type shit.
This isn't just a few men who are animals, it's a generation of women groomed to behave a certain way and a generation of men that have grown up slowly sliding down the moral shit heap.

I watched a documentary where a young woman proudly announced that she had dropped out of law school because she made more money masturbating with sex toys on OnlyFans.
What chance have future generations got in a society like that, we're turning into animals.

13 years in power - and very little progress forward for the country. The education system in dropping in international standards, the NHS has become a monster that cannot be culled, taxpayers money has been wasted left, right and centre on half arsed projects ( and ended up in the pocket of government friends. Because of the behaviour of Boris and his cronies, we have had a huge drop in honesty , trust, work ethic and deliverables - so if the Cons get back in it will be more self interest, deceit , nepotism and corruption - at least it won't involve Nadine Dorries.

And as for the alternative - what exactly is Starmer's stance on anything. With his ability to U Turn , I have no idea !

It raises the situation a few years down the line where the counter staff will have to decide if a cig buyer is eg 31 or 32. Will they have to carry ID to buy them? I suppose, as there'll be no cash, they'll just pay by card or app and your DoB (and inside leg measurement, browsing history, voting record, iffy tweets etc) will be displayed on the Point of Sale screen.

No they don't, they don't care about any of us that aren't going to conform to their system! It works both ways, if they DGAS about us why would we abide to the laws they set out, why should i give a fuck about their policies if they don't give a shit about me?

You have to play them at their own game and not give a fuck about whether they give a fuck about you by spoiling your paper and the likes until they have no other option but to offer you something different.

Until a change like this is made to stop the current way the voting system is failing then nothing will change and we will never have anyone good to vote for. They want you to continue with the current system as they know it doesn't work in anyone's favour but theirs, and i bet they are laughing at people like yourself that seem to think there is no other way except what we currently have!

In reality all the ban will do is push the people who cannot buy the tobacco legally to source it from the black market. But the tories have no clue about this as they dont live in the real world like us, which is why all of their policies are always so out of touch with the every day man and the country ius almost on it's knees from 14 years of Tory oppression!

So, Greeny, which successful populist 'uprisings' do you think we should imitate? There don't seem to be many. Chávez in Venezuela, Mečiar in Slovakia? They both sort of became the elite they were supposed to replace. It's as well to have an idea of the better system you're going to replace things with. Getting rid of the first-past-the-post, 2 party system would be a start.

So, let's get rid of first-past-the-post and replace it with something else. Then we can have minority governments where small extreme minorities effectively hold control like Israel. That will be nice, I wonder which extreme viewpoint we will get?

I don't have the solutions just the ideas, it's the ruling governments job to come up with the solutions, which they won't as they don't see that there is a problem!

It's an ever increasing circle of doom!

Maybe one idea could be to empower ethical people from non privately educated backgrounds to stand for PM, and not let the usual corruption get in the way of making that reality.

Let's face it, you need to be totally committed or rich to go into politics. Which is why the choice is usually between the Boris/Rishi/Rees-Mogg crew or assorted lunatics from the extreme green or extreme left spectra. A sensible, moderate person with good ideas of improving stuff would never stand a chance.
