Restomod - KAWASAKI KZ1000MK-II
I'll admit to a liking for the stuff made by AC Sanctuary.

Nearly. The fairing looks good from the front. But not from the side.
Re: Restomod - KAWASAKI KZ1000MK-II
Nice headers, they don't look like an armadillo
Although I dont like the paint, it tries to visually create angles that arent there in the metal. Metallic sky blue like the original please.

I generally like Sanctuary bikes too. But aside from the headers that's a no from me.

They do nice work, but I've heard of financial shenanigans where they use deposit money from the next guy to finish the current build. They had a subsidiary in LA for a while but they closed to doors PDQ.

I bet you liked those Dyson faired KH400s you used to see in the late 70s.

I wanted one of those when I was 15, fortunately I saw some better looking bikes after that.Ian wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 10:29 pmOi,I had one of those (OK it was a 250).Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 9:37 pm I bet you liked those Dyson faired KH400s you used to see in the late 70s.

Re: Restomod - KAWASAKI KZ1000MK-II
I bought a 250 one for little money and flogged it for £150 back in the 90s. I daresay they'd fetch a bit more now..Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 9:37 pm I bet you liked those Dyson faired KH400s you used to see in the late 70s.

That bike would look much better with a ZRX fairing (as do Z1-R's)

Little brother had a Kork Ballington replica Z250 in racing green with a full fairing.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 9:37 pm I bet you liked those Dyson faired KH400s you used to see in the late 70s.
That was pretty grim

ISTR if you had to have a four stroke, Z250s were considered to be OK, same power as a Superdream but lighter.
Compared to some of the shit people rode back then, like my mates CJ250, it would have been a revelation.
To be honest I doubt my RD250E was much faster flat out

Re: Restomod - KAWASAKI KZ1000MK-II
I had an '81 or '82 Z250 for despatching in Cambridge. It snapped the crank in two... That entire Z250/GPz305 range were grenades looking for a place to explode. Without doubt the biggest pile of shit Kawasaki ever produced.Ian wrote: ↑Fri Sep 29, 2023 7:45 pm ISTR if you had to have a four stroke, Z250s were considered to be OK, same power as a Superdream but lighter.

A month before it blew up I actually set the fucking thing on fire, but it was saved by some *helpful* moron who rushed out of a restaurant with an extinguisher.
