Re: Bike logos, badges, etc.
I can make a template for you to cut out and test.
The confusion is in LDV, MAXUS and Convoy.
Do you mean the current one you don't want is LDV and they changed that from MAXUS which you also don't want but you want to try and squeeze the word "Convoy" into that space?

Yes sorry. The silver LDV/Maxus is just to show you what they did with the later motors to cheer up the badge. I have both the Maxus and Convoy. I am looking for a badge for the Convoy.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 10:58 pm I can make a template for you to cut out and test.

I think i want do change LDV to Convoy that should look better. The right if the badge recess on the grill already had a Y angle but, I was thinking a font called Kashmir as i am a bit of a Led Zep fan. Its probably the closest font to the Led Zeppelin logo font but i cant get it bold enough (See Pic) using paint.net. It does not have to be white over red if you think some other colours would work. If you think it may look better with the Swan song record label logo in it somewhere then great i am just not all that artistic enough to put it down as print using pain.net type software.

Awesome, huge Led Zip fan here too.
I'll have a crack at a design...
After I finish printing this:

Grab bucket powered only by gravity!
No idea if it will work in plastic.

I've been watching Kindig Customs on the TV. 3D printing has revolutionized the custom world in some way. They made up an airfilter housing last night. The guy scanned the engine bay, in particular the supercharger carbs and linkage and then was able to design one that would fit in the limited space. The head dbloke, Mr Kindig said it was so simple he felt like he was cheating!! Awesome tech!

Re: Bike logos, badges, etc.
Amazing what you can do with a 3d printer.
I designed and printed this grab bucket, copied off a YouTube video.

Incredibly it works! Sort of.
Turns out what it really needs is a scale model chain... Video to follow. Mechanisms are where it's at with 3d prints but with the correct design, would make perfectly acceptable custom bike parts.

Yup. See the Yamaha Tenere thread for an example of just that.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 9:33 am Amazing what you can do with a 3d printer.

I nicked this one off Thingiverse:

Fully functional LARGE ball mount. Steel bolt running through the stem. PETG is tough as fuck, it won't break.

Took a bit of effort but an interesting mechanism.

Quite happy with this model and the metrics are also interesting.
Two likes here.
1 view in Twitter (probably me!)
15 views on YouTube )most of them me!)
4.3 thousand views on Reddit!
That's in 1 hour...

Over SEVENTY THOUSAND views on Reddit.

Re: Bike logos, badges, etc.
@Screwdriver - a bit of a random question!
Do you think you could 3D print an 'expansion tank' for a Ford Capri 2.8l (1980's but don't have the exact date)
Like I say, random! Partly cos I have no idea how much pressure it would be under (would it?!) but it was a conversation at an old car rally and some of the guys are really struggling to find original ones so I said I'd ask you as you can probably work out what it needs to be made of and if it's possible?!
If you think it might be, I will ask for my mates contact info and put you guys in touch

Re: Bike logos, badges, etc.
Yes I should think so. I'd have to come up with some engineered solution for all the inlets/outlets but 3D printed in PETG would be water tight and good for up to say 70°C.
Devil of a job and I'd need to sell half a dozen to make it cost effective, depending on just how much they might sell for.

Brilliant info. Thank you. I'll see him on Friday I think, so will tell him then and get contact info if he thinks he can find some other Capri owners!
He was adamant that there is a need for something to replace damaged or worn ones, but as we're not in the UK, not sure how many owners he knows here!! But he probably has contacts over there

will message you if anything comes from Friday

Re: Bike logos, badges, etc.
About time the front door got a lick of paint...

So I tarted up the furniture and finally installed a 3D printed door number I've been itching to try out.

It is fitted with a light sensitive solar powered backlight and packed full of leds so it should glow just enough (and not too much)...
I am entertaining the idea of knocking these out in the style of the periodic table so if you have a chemically interesting door number, drop me a line.

Our house isn't easily seen from the road and street numbers make no sense, so I had to have a light-reflective house number made up and screwed to a tree at end of the drive but your idea would have been far better.

Seeing door numbers was my biggest nightmare as a first responder!! I'd deal with the patient situation fine, but trying to find a house number was the worst bit!!!v8-powered wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 1:34 pmGreat ideaScrewdriver wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 1:05 pm
