Re: Portimao 29-31 May 2021. RTTL Extravaganza
Months to go but couple of daft Qs :
The NL website says Portimao doesn't have a fuel station - really?
Whats the story with changing groups? I've booked lower as never seen the place and few of the wiltshire lads are proper novices but I might feel like being lapped by some of the guys who are out to win inters on 2nd or 3rd day....
Our posse is planning on flying out on the Thursday to get acclimatised

I'm booked in Wobblers too, John, on the basis that Euro TD groups are generally a bit quicker than those over here. I have been to Portimao once before but must confess that I couldn't get on with it. I went in novices then and was definitely at the blunt end.
I haven't been on track this year so I need to get out before we go to Portimao. Need to decide what I should ride too lol.

Excellent, you passed me a few times at Pembrey on the blade so that makes me feel better about that decision. Seems to be predominantly race bikes in the inters vids I've seen.2xtwins wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 4:44 pmI'm booked in Wobblers too, John, on the basis that Euro TD groups are generally a bit quicker than those over here. Really looking forward to this

I'm really looking forward to it too.
I booked it to give me something to aim at, as 2020 has been a year to forget.
It's an amazing track but I don't think I did it justice. I was too much of a pussy lol. Didn't help that it rained pretty much all of the first day we went although iirc it was a lot later in the year.
You're bang on re the track / race bikes - I think my Mille was one of the few road bikes there although there was a guy with a BigCC turbocharged Hayabusa - no, seriously.
If I do get around to selling the Blade, the Mille may even make another appearance.

Re: Portimao 29-31 May 2021. RTTL Extravaganza
If you picked Knockhill early April the response for your 50th might not have been quite as large ......... i wanted to book early but convinced myself that 3 days at one of the best tracks in Europe was too big a step up from a dampish virgin wobble round Pembrey.
Finally had a word with myself and realised that getting together with this/you lot in the sunshine at one of the best tracks in Europe was something i was getting probably one opportunity to do so hit the "book now" button and reading it later would have been insufferable
P.s. i wont be bringing cake

Re: Portimao 29-31 May 2021. RTTL Extravaganza
Yeah, and Paddy.
Paddy's got a Monster 821, born again but with lots of miles under his belt this year - he may have a V2 by the time this trip comes round.
Steve's got a Multi and a 696 Monster. we Managed to get him to sell his Harley and is now a Ducati nut.
Midge has got a Triumph Tiger, but Will likely have something more sporty by then, unless the mad buggers choose to ride down there.
I'm sure we'll meet up too before the trip, they're TD virgins but they're planning a couple of days before Portimao
Oh and you forgot:
Doug (Buzz lightyears dad!) was at Pembrey on a ZX10R
Mrs Crust,
