It's quite a small exhaust for that size engine.

I'm guessing he wanted it to be loud :)

Be interesting to see a dyno graph.

I'm not sure that will help us achieve Net Zero.

Having been to many a w/c sidecar race (ok, 1), those engines are tuned for torque not outright hp.
Cr500s used to kick out 65+ ponies 20+ years ago, it was the 50ftlb of torque that made them scary!
My cr250 was a peaky little thing, but with only 40ish hp it was never scary.
Round out local track I was a good 10s quicker on my 250 than when I borrowed a 500. It was either wheelspin or wheelie everywhere!

Dont like the swingarm on the megastars btw!

And it's too high!

There's been variations of that powerplant kicking about for yonks, Maico, Zabel and another name I can't remember. MTH?
Pheumatic powervalve thats opened by exhaust gas pressire.
All bottom end and from what I heard, more sutible for sidecars.

Sorry I just can't get past the name. I mean is it supposed to be a pun on GasGas? Me GasGas? Bit Essex. Mega S Gas? Makes no sense.

Surely Megagasgas is the more obvious pun?

Yeah, they put that motor in grasstrack sidecars and some karts. The write up says it doesn't have a balancer so it's 'mega' vibey.

The manufacturer quotes 84hp.

People get a bit over excited about big single cylinder two strokes, generally they're all torque and no revs, I don't think the cylinder scavenging on them is great and a cylinder under 200cc works better.

Not too many 2 strokes in hillclimbing, but there is always one.
