I want to lower my handlebars - so I want to take out one of the headset spacers - drop the bars and try it.
I would normally put the spacer on top of the stem until I decided what height is right.
Do I have to use the KB spacer on top of the stems - or can I use a normal council house spec one?
The functionality of the KB is obviously the tabs restricting rotation. But the bottom two spacers and stem will presumably deliver the functionality. Anything above the stem is not important?

All the spacers are slotted so you have to use a KB one as it's a cut out on one side and a sticky out on the other. I totally get your point, but they're different. You can buy a replacement with 1 slot missing, i have one here, which is usually for fitting a standard stem, but i guess could be used. They're about £18 but you can have FoC.
