Most of my mates that have kids that are now in their teens tend to just stay at home and get excited about a new series of strictly come dancing....:(

Maybe they loose touch with society and have no real want to go out and socialise.

I run a sunday roast club every first sunday in the month which i get a lot of take up for, always at least 8 out of the 15 of us come out without fail. I have had many comments from them saying that if i didn't do this they would only go out about 2 or 3 times a year, i always question them as to why and get some silly flippant comment, i think they just don't want to reply with 'i'm a boring miserable fucker now'.

The ones that still have young kids don't come out much at all and just moan about how knackered they are all the time because of the kids!

It is what it is. One of them went to the ballet last week, i almost texted him telling him never to speak to me again...:)

When I first joined I thin my strapline was "lying outrageously on the internet since 2001". So it's been 22 years!

I have been to a few of the meet ups many years ago. Two Memorial Meets, Cambridge drinks and I met the mighty Cheb in Cambridgeshire for a drink when he was passing.

Also I remember that time we got together with Jodie, Posti, Chachi, Ralph Malph, Richie Cunningham, my dad Tom Bosley and then The Fonz jumped his motorcycle over the diner.

All great days.

I'd consider coming to the Pembry thing if it was more centrally located.

I could consider putting together a break dancing and free running workshop if there was any interest. Maybe get sponsorship from FIla VIntage and live steam it on the Tick Tocks.

I mean no offense Greenie but the thought of hanging around in your spare bedroom eating gummies and making reggae music with you and your friends makes my blood run cold. My idea of heaven is me and my boy (or a good mate) doing a 10k run out in the country lanes in the pissing rain - which might be your idea of hell.

A roast club where I sit drinking beer and stuffing my face with carbs is equally as uninviting. So I wouldn’t be being miserable by not coming along, I just wouldn’t enjoy it.
You don't know what your missing out on mate...;)

I don't really do the sun, i can't stand it, sitting around on beaches or in deserts in hot countries is my idea of hell. Sometimes i think i am a 50% vampire tbh!

I have a very creative mind and that is the only thing that really makes me happy, i could go to the studio every night if i could. The studio nights don't involve gummies, they involve lots of alcohol and super lemon haze with good friends creating great music, well, music at least.

How can you not enjoy a sunday roast?

Yeah what he said basically, in spirit if not in detail. :D

It's not that I don't like people, it's just that as I get older and more confident in myself (everyone does) my tolerance for doing stuff I don't like/want to do decreases. Basically CBA to make the effort to go and do 'something' for the sake of it, perfectly happy to just do my own thing and be satisfied.

I also find that when I'm with people in my particular wheel house I have a great old time. Some of my favourite times are actually at work, it's really not like a job at all to me. It's just a room full of people who think in the same way as me - we're not even in the same interest or specialty zone a lot of the time, it's more of a mindset and I find it very easy to be around these people.

The fun of camping wanes the older you get / the amount of times you have to open the back tent flap for a piss in the night.

I think this is a big thing. I've really struggled here to find those people, probably because I've not been riding a bike much or skiing much either. And then you get out of the habit of going and and when there's an option to go and, in theory, those people will be your kind of people, but you aren't sure, it's just too easy to stay put!!

Up here I seem to be a weirdo for my age (well, just a weirdo really) cos, whilst I'm quite happy on my own, I do like going out and meeting people and doing stuff. Hopefully this winter I will be able to afford it and won't be working too many hours to actually do it. But in general it probably won't be with the guys my sort of age cos, they don't do it so much cos they is old and sensible

This! Although I never particularly liked camping, it was another reason to buy a van, even with a bike and track gear in it, I could still sleep in the back and that was WAYYYYYYY better than in a tent!!

That's one of the things I wanted to say too: travel distance is a big barrier to a lot of people. That's why the Memorial Meet was always at or near the Midlands, it was a "fair" travel distance for everyone, rather than being in (say) London where only the South East residents would have an easy journey.

I'd say Dazzle makes a good point here as well.

I always wanted to suggest Mallory - TDs are generally cheap there and I love the circuit! BUT - I am generally in a minority on loving the circuit!! LOL And I'm not sure it's possible to camp there any more :(

The only thing you can do as an event organiser is book it and see who arrives/books. You will never please all the people all the time.

TBF, if I was in the uk at the right time (or could arrange to be) I'd go to whichever track you picked.

For me it's about riding a bike on track and being around like minded loonies :D :D I don't care what track I go to as I just like the challenge (future ones will be extra challenging cos I'll have to relearn it all!!) and the laughs when not on the bike :D :D

As we've established elsewhere, I'm some kind of weirdo!!

Track days are all fcuking miles from me, I know I am slow, I don't need to prove it, I haven't got any leathers, and I don't do camping.

Other than that I am always up for a TD.

Woah. I'm travelling millions of miles next week to ride at Portimao.
