The only two cars I've/we've really wanted were an MX-5 with pop up headlights and a breadvan Civic Type-R. Both were actually Mrs. D's cars on paper but we both drove 'em . I can safely say both were brilliant and if it weren't for the fact both were "taken"* from us we'd still have 'em.
About 20 years ago I rode my mates 916 a few times as he was racing & stopped riding on the road but wanted me to ride the bike every few weeks to keep it in running order.I prefered my FZ750,still have the FZ,never rode a Ducati since...
They're only about 100bhp stock and do need the race kit to make them fast, the race kit cost more than the bike, but they're very pretty. Gen1 V-Twin Aprilia's are generally pretty solid, don't have the same clock and stator issues that early Gen2's have (was fixed from mid-late 06 on so later Gen2's are OK too, but will need checking when buying as many of these bikes were late registered so could be that you found an 05 bike but wasn't registered til 2007 in some cases). TL1000 - Always wanted one but then rode my mates and compared to my Blade it was a bit plop, noise aside. Still kinda want one though.
RSV1000 - Either Gen 1 or 2. I like both. But the resetting clocks, bubbly tanks, battery faffing put me off.
SV650 - Dunno why just fancy one as a knock about bike. Have visions of buying one and stripping it back so it weighs less kind of like a less extreme JHS race bike for the road.
SP1/2 - Rode a mates one and loved it, but I'd never ride it much as uncomfy and tend to be expensive now for high mileage bikes. Should of bought Potter's years ago.
