No, i'm saying they're not welcome because i don't want to listen... so either you'd be walking off to find someone else, or i would... but we wouldn't be sitting there discussing the subjects, we wouldn't ever get to the stage where we debate whether they're facts or fiction... the conversation would be shut down and either changed, or ended.

So it's quantity not quality you're annoyed at. Ok. I'll be brief.

If we're still in the analogous pub, you're not the only voice at the table. Even if it is your pub, you do want to attract punters no? And if they are all engaged in the topic de jour, that is not necessarily my doing. I am merely contributing to the topic at hand.

I have yet to find any topic, anywhere, where any group of people unanimously agree on everything. That is to be expected of a forum too isn't it?

Having run a pub and worked in them for 30+ years I can honestly say, with experience, that there are people who want to talk about certain subjects and people that don't.

The people that don't want to move. The people that do will keep trying to find someone who will converse. Sometimes they succeed. In that case there are a couple of guys at one end of the bar (or at a table) arguing or agreeing about stuff whilst everyone that does not want to is somewhere else in the pub.

It's not about whether the publican wants the person in there or not, unless they cause fights by 'making' the other people listen, following them despite being told they are not interested or similar.

If everyone is talking about the topic de jour and the publican isn't interested, he goes and stands at the other end of the bar and only rejoins when people want to order drinks (I've done this often, especially in the run up to the Brexit vote when I was working in a pub in Bristol).

This has been to death. You started what looked to be an interesting thread about Russia/Ukraine in April 2021, over 2 years ago. By the third sentence you'd moved on to 'shady backroom cabal of big tech, global corporations and (one assumes) the Obama/Clinton shadow cabinet' and so it went on. I distinctly remember thinking at the time 'FFS not another thread ruined' because, even back then, you'd bring up the same subjects in multiple threads. And you're still doing it, and complaining when people say 'can't be bothered'. It's not so much what you post, it's the over-saturation and repetitiveness.
No offence meant, I'm just trying to explain why I read your posts far less than I used to.

So to defend the accusation I went "off topic" I would have to accept the shenanigans surrounding the shitshow that this war has become is nothing to do with the needs of the military industrial complex or shady backroom cabal. I seem to recall we actually disagreed on the influence of NATO in Putin kicking this whole thing off...

See what I mean? I am criticised for expressing an opinion which is "conspiracy theory" and have to go back to the original premise to elucidate. Then the criticism becomes "you keep banging on about it". Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

1. Of course i do want to attract new members... However i do not belive on a motorcycle related forum, these particular subject will in any way encourage more members. Personally, I'd say the exact opposite based upon the members who no longer now post, even the ones who return for a day or two, don't stay...

2. 100% the forum is here for discussion and people do not need to agree... Why can't you see that too ?

I'm trying my best and still standing for what i believed in even back in VD/TRC days of 'a community'

I'll continue to try for as long as there's enough in the coffers each year to cover the upkeep... after that, who knows.

I'm aware though that this forum isn't likely to be here forever, with the age of users, the decline of bikes, it's a bit of a dinosaur... but it's our dinosaur

I'm not sure what 'rule' you actually want me to enforce sometimes.

Both you and Yorick took a 1 day ban for it... both the same punishment, both for being abusive.

Ant is currently on a 1 dayer for being a deliberate toll and provoking.... Maybe you see yours as that too, but personally i draw lines in my head and Ants crossed that, the comments made by Yorick usually are not over that line. They may not be what you want to read or see, but that doesn't mean they actually break any of the forum rules.

I wasn’t trolling, I was responding to something, which in my opinion was accurate. He is the author of some of the most misogynistic posts on this forum, never pulled up on it, yet I get pulled up for pulling someone up on it. You gave me a ban for reporting a post also, who does that? I've never known someone so unstable, to have so many melt downs and tantrums.

Well YOUR rules. Just tell me what they are and don't move the goalposts.

I also mentioned the rules before, quoted them when you were having a melt down at me by giving me board warnings, because by looking at the rules, I hadn’t broken them. You couldn’t point out anywhere where I had broken them, we had a long PM conversation where you were just throwing insult after insult, when in each response I was kindly asking to be directed to the part of the rules which I had broken - you’ve just taken a dislike to me, fair enough.
