Bol D'or, Paul Ricard

Post by Whysub »

Here for the weekend for the 24 hour race starting at 15.00 on Saturday. The TRT27 team were very gracious in offering us their hospitality today.

Not attended a 24 hour endurance event before, but looking forward to seeing some of it from the team garage tomorrow.

Had lunch with one of the teams "fuel men" today, and got a good insight into the difficulties of that role.

I'll be watching the race on Eurosport.I got back into watching Endurance racing this year, last time I was at the the Bol was 1992 Team Bike ran a RC30,now I see the bike at the Classic TT Superbike race  I really should get my act together & get back to some Endurance rounds next year
I see Chris Walker is there again & Joe Ackroyd got a ride with a French team on a bike with their own chassis & telelever style fork.
Back in the day that road from Bandol to the circuit was epic!

I've just discovered that I can turn the commentary off or have it in various different languages with Discovery Plus, I'm tempted to listen to the commentary in French, and I don't speak French

I don't believe it, I am the finger of doom, when I had a Suzuki, SERT couldn't win an Endurance race and Honda won, now I own a Honda, the Honda that was leading the Championship is out and SERT are leading the race and YART most likely to win the Championship

It's living in England that's done it, French food is now "foreign muck" and his stomach can't handle it.

That's the first time I've seen that corrugated concrete in use instead of the Kitty litter,I would imagine that would have been carnage with Kitty litter barrel rolling

The Metisse has just blown up in a big way about halfway down the straight, you could see the oil pouring out of the fairing, flames were impressive

Making our way to the pits, the skittling incident took place. As we crossed the access bridge, the Metisse blew up as it past, quite spectacular.

The TRT27 Suzuki holding up well, Tom Oliver out on track at the moment, with just another hour to go.
