The 0.14 deg increase is in degrees F from 1880 to 1981. The rate of warming since 1981 is more than twice as fast: 0.32° F (0.18° C) per decade.

It's obvious that the ice caps are melting due to measuring the temps on a housing estate in Bracknell
I'm intrigued - where is the Bracknell reference on that site? Or am I just being a bit thick and you're cracking a joke...?
Never mind all this Bracknell business Mango....get tapping! Enough distraction activities.

Does sounds like the dams are very likely suspects. Record rainfall wouldn't have helped though. Looking at the pics/satellite images it looks like something from a war zone the poor bastards :(
ABC World News actually mentioned the condition of the dams last night without talk of rising sea levels. I assume some grown up at the network heard the original report & kicked some sense into the dull fuck on the spot.

Only reason the temp is going up is cos they are measuring it in different places apparently. I assume the ice caps have noted this and melted in panic rather than the temps are actually going up.

I don't suppose they raised the question that maintenance of infrastructure had gone out of the window after NATO tore the country in two by supporting the rebels? No? Thought not.

There's a term for measuring temps in between large buildings surrounded by concrete instead of out in a field, but it escapes me right now. The temp swings are very noticeable* riding across town here in the desert at night during Winter. We have huge open spaces in town with no buildings. Warm when riding in the built up areas, quite nippy crossing the open spaces between the built up areas.

* as in would be comfortable riding in a Tshirt in the build up areas, but needing several layers in the open areas.

The term is "measuring temps in between large buildings surrounded by concrete instead of out in a field". HTH.

I think it's fair to say a carnivorous pet is significant from a CO2 point of view. Get yourself a good mouser though and you won't have to feed it. Or listen to bird song any more.
