A good, solid crack can often kill them, but they do definitely seem to get knocked unconscious a lot of the time, yeah! Trick is either to hold the fucker down with the button on until they're crispy and smoking, or hoover them up with the little handheld hoover before they can fly away.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 1:47 pmSo far as I can work out, those things just knock em out for a bit!

I can't use mine unless Mrs M takes the dogs out for a walk as the crackling (or me pirouetting around the house swinging the racket) terrifies the dogs.
Ours is a particularly vicious version with a rather potent ZAP and I'm not sure its strictly safe/legal.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Was taking a butchers at the overnight reports on the local FB scanner page. Found this gem:
902R....13th Street West and Avenue I (Boyden).....male adult hit in head with firework, now not breathing....sheriff and FD enroute code 3
UPDATE: patient being transported to AVMC
UPDATE 2: per witness on scene, patient placed firework on motorcycle helmet , lit the firework and tried riding down street…patient in very critical condition
Apparently he was trying to light a mortar on top of his head wearing a motorcycle helmet and it never left the tube and exploded on top of his head...

He collected the award at the hospital a few hours later, they just posted that he carked it. The scene of the detonation apparently looked like a bloodbath. & judging by the dent in the helmet it probably broke his neck from the recoil.

It seems to be 'a thing' on Instagram. Motorcycles+fireworks. What could possibly go wrong?
Saw one where the bloke had 2 mega-roman candles/mortars strapped to the rear end. Riding along a dark highway going kaboom every few seconds. As long as they only delete themselves *shrug*

Re: What have you done today thread?
Yesterday - I went to see my winter boss. Had a good chat. Told him the hours I wanted to work (office and driving) and the wages I want - start on 2nd October.
That's better money and more time off than any other job I've looked at up here and starting approx 2.5 months sooner.
I'm very happy

Today my car passed its MOT but my eyes failed theirs! Apparently, my eyes don't meet the legal requirement and I need to wear glasses to drive now! New glasses time!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Was pressure washing the path in the front yard as the concrete has a shallow dip in the center which causes dirt to accumulate & makes it like an ice rink when it's wet...
Then I had the brilliant idea to attach the U shaped extension & see if I could blow any debris out of the gutters...
Next time I'll do this from the roof, not the front yard...

Amazing 5 hour enduro today and found some new trails and we found a way to get to the most northerly place on the island. None of had been there before. The views were stunning. These photos don't really do it justice

There's more debris these days because of climate change.ZRX61 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 4:22 am Was pressure washing the path in the front yard as the concrete has a shallow dip in the center which causes dirt to accumulate & makes it like an ice rink when it's wet...
