Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
Ducati have lost their way with the latest monster, it could be any Japanese budget naked bike. If someone wrote Suzuki SV650 on it and told you it was £6k you’d believe them

Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
I had quite high hopes for this gen Monster but they're underwhelming in the flesh, despite them actually intending to make them a bit more premium.
And they just look derpy.

Ducati have made some really good looking bikes over the years, but I agree that they seem to have lost their way in recent times &
I know I rate the SV650, but I'm not biased when I say that both the SV650X & current Gen 3's look better than that Monster...

Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
What couchy said.
Not a trellis frame, no rattly/shite clutch, loads of pipes/wires/black plastic. Probably actually a parallel twin with fake exhausts I bet it's even built properly!
16k my arse! To charge 16k its got be I dunno...special.

Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
The thing with this current style is the headlight always looks like it's been in a 'pin the tail on the donkey' competition. Maybe the lights are so bad they have to put them closer to the ground? Maybe I'm old fashioned but they look like the headlamp bracket has given up the fight against gravity. They remind me (for those old enough to remember) of the cricketer Derek Randall, the bike looks like it's wearing a jacket with the coat hanger still in it.

Yes they've made the occasional munter over the years, but they also made some good looking bikes. Now they don't appear to make any good looking bikes but still make the occasional ugly bike
In the past they looked distinctive, now they just look generic.

Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
I like the 'idea' of this a lot more than the look. As Couchy says above, they've lost their way with this. It doesn't even look like a proper Monster
Which is a shame

You'd have to be a bit special to pay 16 large for that......Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 7:10 pm What couchy said.

Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
Ducati design team seems to have lost a little bit of flair - it is very UJM

Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
I mean I was joking, but from that side angle if you told me it's a A2 compliant 600cc parallel twin I'd believe you for quite a while.
16 large!
16 large!
Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
Well if you just want to stand staring at it in your garage , fair enough, but i have ridden one and they
are great bikes. Lightish by modern standards and lovely grunty engine, make a great road bike.
I prefer the SP paint job over this.

Re: 30th Anniversary Monster
If it's about the riding I'd argue any of the jap middleweights with a little spent on suspension are much better.
