3 times here. Got points for two but the important one was fine - got pulled for marginally exceeding the speed limit into a 30 at 8,45am just before Christmas. All they wanted to do was the breathalyser thing and I'd had 2 pints the night before so no worries. The funny thing was I had a large furry spider on the dash which he thought was a disguised radar detector. 'What's that sir?'

'It's a spider' says I, squeezing the rubber bulb and making it jump across the dash.

'Ah' says he. 'On your way sir. Have a nice day'.

(The first time the nice officer said, in a tone of polite enquiry, 'were you racing the other chap?'. I look myself over to see if I'm wearing 'Born Yesterday' badge. 3 points).

A few years back I generously offered to deliver my eldest to a NYE party, somewhere out in the sticks over here. He's about 17 at the time. So we pile in the right-hand-drive french-plated old Peugeot, him in the passenger seat.
It's pissing down and it's dark - halfway there, going through a village, we're flagged down by a torch waving in the middle of the road. Pulling up, it's Le Rozzers, wet through, looking to score some early evening pissheads.

So Le Rozzer squelches over to the lefthandside of the car, taps on the window, my eldest in the passenger seat dutifully rolls the window down. Le Rozzer thrusts a breathalyser in and my eldest, rather surprised, starts blowing into it. I start laughing and finally Le Rozzer bends down to the window and looks across to where I'm holding the steering wheel and miming my driving. :D

No sense of humour, he grumpily walks round to the right and breathalyses me instead. :D

Well this actually my 3rd time. First time was actually on my scooter, way back when I was 18/19. Had the girlfriend at the time on the back. On L plates. The peeler (cop) was nice enough, gave me a telling off, and sent us on our way.

Second was leaving work one day, meat wagon with the blues on behind me, pulled over. Policewoman gets out and tells me my car came up with no tax. Showed her the tax disc, she shrugged her shoulders, checked again, and I was on my way. That was a nervy moment in the middle of north Belfast in the middle of winter!

Never actually been “pulled”, but I’ve done several (4/5?) SA courses. They don’t seem to be working. In my defence, yer onner, they’ve all been 1mph over the nominal 10%+2 ie 69, 80 mph. Must try harder.

Got stopped in London on the TMax once. The cop said he was doing security checks for terrorist matters. Very chatty and seemingly pleasant, but eventually I was getting impatient to get on my way. He checked the top box, but didn't check under the seat. By then I didn't feel inclined to tell him about that.

I'm going to edit Terrorpedia to suggest bombs are better kept under the seat than in topbox, cheers!

Some of you only seem to have been stopped by the police a few times,I must be into double figures & had a few chases back in the day..
This topic reminds me of probably the first occasion,I'm 16 years old just finished work, early as I'm an apprentice spark working on building sites & we all stop at 1pm on Friday's.I set off through St Helens town centre & I'm behaving myself.I must have only rode 400 metres & a copper stops me just near a rough pub.He has a quick look at my SS50 & some random bloke strolls over & tears into the copper for stopping me when I've done nothing wrong :wtf: After a couple of minutes with the random bloke getting more aggressive the copper tells me to get on my way as he is now going to attempt to arrest the random bloke :D

Stops that I can remember:
- followed, documents checked
- followed, breathalysed
- nicked for speeding
- stopped for carrying a pillion on a small bike ("sgt said we had to")

Not stops. Being involved with training means I can put on a 'show':
- 'brisk' overtake ... with a patrol car coming the other way. Followed for several miles but not stopped
- late (as usual) so about 100 down the A34. What's that white car catching me up? Slow to 70, then bang on lower speed limits - they ignored the cars ahead that carried on at higher speeds. Slow wide load going down the slip road to the M3, taking up more than one lane - leaving half a lane for me to pass and leave them behind :)
Even bland can be a type of character

I got pulled about a year ago. They were pulling at random.
He saw the GSXR1000 had no rear reflector then stopped looking. Could have been bald tyres and pissed and carrying drugs.

Cost me 200€
It's been on the radio here today that the Guardia Civil and Traffico will be doing extra patrols to check motorbikes for illegal exhaust pipes and riders under the influence. No beer for me this weekend!

The Local police here are nice blokes. Been stopped twice for traffic signal infringements, but just educated with a wagging finger and told "No".

A few years ago on route to Flash's place in France, the three of us were stopped by a police car. We'll, I was. My two mates slowed right down too, looked at me, then gunned it away!

Copper said he was following us for 16 kms at 140 kph in an 80kph limit. Got off with a warning to slow down. He must have felt some sympathy for me, in that my mates pissed off and left me to deal with him.
