Built two large flatpack sliding wardrobes.

Siting on the floor, bending over to screw stuff in and general hard work has fucked me over, I can hardly move.

I'm hope this gets me in the good books enough to buy a GSXR1100.

As my lad has gone to uni thought I'd give the interior of his car a clean after 3 years of carting himself and filthy rugby playing mates around - it was hanging!!!!

May attempt a scrub of the exterior too soon!

Sampled some outstanding Ethiopian coffees - and found a new wholesaler who seems to have some really top notch beans....

Walked the dog...

Made dinner...

Bought some more rocks (don’t ask)

Bacon and sausage stottie to help clear the head before picking up a pallet to shift some stuff down south on. Pet food shop for more treats for the mutt before taking him for a wander around the local woods which he loved.

D2 was full of glee as she’s found a house to buy so we’ll soon be rattling around the house by ourselves (fingers crossed).

Roast beef dinner cooked and consumed. Currently watching first Harry Potter film again, we watch them all in the run up to Christmas every year.

After last weeks freeze trip on the Trumpet to Cambridge I decided to use my lads Corsa today as he's at uni - almost wish I'd walked!

Firstly, took me 2 miles before I could actually select 2nd gear - clearly the well documented gear selector issue applies to his car so have ordered a replacement. Interior was so dirty I could barely see out of the screen and even after cleaning its still like looking through the bottom of a beer glass :D
I still have the return journey to look forward to....

Came to work. Had a row with my support team as I have 3 cars in for repairs, but as our risk assessment says only one person in a car I can’t get any of them back from the repairers unless they are recovered, at a cost of £150 each. Not my problem, I need the cars on the road.
One of my staff saw me getting stroppy so went to Greggs and got me a sausage & bacon batch and a coffee!!! My team love me, support staff not so much!!

Send 3 people in 3 taxis (covid safe with screens), must be cheaper than £450.

Got two weeks off, but it'll be spent working on the house. :( I've started sanding down the woodwork in the hall and will paint that later on and the new doors we've just had hung.

Organised Essex water to come round and service the supply stop cock as itb wont shift and the plumber needs to fit us a new stop cock inside the house and moves some pipes about etc as we getting a new bathroom put in bit by bit.

Got some good news from the D/glazing man. He said our 2.4m patio door opening isn't best suited to bifolds as it would only be 2 panels which means no "traffic door", which means you have to open the whole thing, which I don't fancy as I have to let the dogs in and out 50 times a day. So I'll be getting the cheaper French doors, result!

So much needed work getting done on the house, but a boring way to spend 2 weeks off. Ho hum...

Mmm, don’t disagree. Unfortunately being a government department, logic and common sense don’t always prevail!!

Mick's slightly underselling them when he calls them 'cars' :)

I'm doing bugger all today as I'm recovering from yesterdays hoonery. Noticed that everyone is still hauling ass when driving. Average traffic speed on the freeway yesterday was 95, at one point I was with 4 cars & we were all going 120.

Had a nightmare with plumbing today, or at least the plumber did. :D He was only supposed to be here a couple of hours redirecting waste from the bath and sink into the soil pipe from the toilet and eliminating the sagging, unsuitable pipe that it was running in. But when the floorboards came up it turned out the soil pipe was cast iron, so he literally went under the floorboards with a head torch on and smashed out the cast and refitted it with plastic etc. He also replaced all the bodged copper pipe work and relocated the stop cock from the neighbouring bedroom back under the bath. So its money spent that you don't see any benefit from, but I feel a lot happier knowing we have plastic welded joints on waste pipes and all new stop cocks and isolater valves on everything! :)

You're thinking of them French kilometers ;)

My local freeway has always been a bit of the race track compared to the ones down the hill in LA. It's not unusual to find yourself in a pack of 10-20 cars where everyone is doing 85-90, but since Covid the pace has picked up quite a bit. CHP etc have released several statements asking for everyone to slow the fuck down as it's all getting a bit ridiculous (paraphrased that bit). Local guys nailed three people for 140mph a couple of weeks back.

Took the Gremlinette for her first tattoo.

Yeah....I know...bad Gremlin!!

In my defence, it's very small, in a discrete place and she's been going on for bloody ages.

And Mrs. Gremlin's actual words when we rang her to ask if it was okay was 'Well it's up to you' which means I can't possibly be in the shit when I get home, right?
