Yup, it's a nice job. Not a lot I'd change if it were mine.

I wouldn't say it kills it, just leaves it badly wounded... :)

But I agree, the seat is pants to be honest, it looks what it is - an upholstered bench. At the very least it should hide the top frame rail and not be just so square (in all senses of the word). The tail section is a complete mess. And the section below the seat is crying out to be filled in - not completely, just the top half/two thirds. Leave the bottom part of the triangle open to show off the shock and swingarm.

Otherwise I really like it. And I bet it goes and handles well.

USD forks kills it for me.

Why had it got LC cigar pipes on it?

I don't mind the USD forks or the monoshock conversion, but the pipes that stick out way behind the back wheel just look daft... plus the seat / hole. Plus the sub-CX500 flyscreen.

Not for me.

Do you think they 'borrowed' the front tyre?

Personally I'm sick to death of old fudgers fawning over stock restored RDs, so this is a winner for me

I sort of agree because I'm sure most of us thought the same way about 80s streetfighters. I'm sure there must have been some lovely ones, but the vast majority were unlovely unimaginative horrors
