Nice ride out today to clear my weary head. Dodged a couple of showers, but overall a pretty nice day to be out. I parked up in Matlock Bath and had a wander about. Place was crammed with bikes.

Hit some of my favourite roads not far from home, 120 miles all in.

No, it's about 25 miles north of Kemble.

Been out today for some fun in between a couple of days instructing for upcoming tests.

As @Bustaspoke sais the farmers have been working overtime to shift the crops around here. Combines and tractors towing grain trailers into the darkness.

In the background is one of the smaller combines working nearby

Literally just followed a grain trailer along the road that passes my house and it was like following a gritting wagon with the amount falling off it. Should blow away overnight before I leave on the bike in the morning ;)

A Sweaty is a Yorkshire man with less pies and easier to understand.

We were not quite as lucky dodging the rain

Image

Lads did well as at the start of the day neither had ridden any form of motorbike before never mind one with a clutch and gears ….. by the end of the day they had ridden in hail, rain and briefly in a foot or so of water at a flooded section after the thunderstorm had finished

Last month must be the first August in years that I did not get out for a ride. What with the weather and a few long distance overseas work trips the opportunity didn’t arise.
However September has got off to a great start and today’s riding conditions were as close to perfect as I can remember.
So with a not too early start I headed off to an old favourite destination at Koti Autotalli for a coffee, then from there up to a new motor focussed destination, The Piston Club at The Stag between Stratford and Alcester, http://www.thepistonclub.co.uk/.
Not a bad place to stop off, you can see it’s trying to cash in on the popularity and vibe of the nearby Caffine and Machine with a more pub like feel and offering.
