Found this on my old Flickr album.
Can’t remember who led the ride or took the pic but it was a VD rideout around E.Sussex.

Strolled up to the nearby pub for a couple, returned to greet a new house guest. That's a pint glass, BTW.

I can assure that, by the way it was running around soon after, I hadn't.

Giant House Spider innit. Keep rescuing them (it's probably the same one! ) from the bath and the kitchen sink. Don't mind them as they don't make webs all over the place ie around the bedroom ceiling*. They're pretty fast but they don't bite so you can pick 'em up and rescue them for karma points.Horse wrote: Tue Aug 22, 2023 10:14 pm Strolled up to the nearby pub for a couple, returned to greet a new house guest. The ones that tick me off are cellar spiders, the spindly, webby blighters.
* They sometimes try, unsuccessfully, to build a web ladder to get out of the sink/bath.

They would if they could, bit apparently their jaws/teeth aren't large enough to penetrate human skin.Count Steer wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 8:04 amGiant House Spider innit. They can break skin, although the real risk is infection from whatever you already have on your skin. Which can sometimes lead to necrosis.

Re: utterly random picture thread.

While Yamaha were making musical instruments; and Suzuki were painting toe nails; this Kawasaki Ha40 engine was a Japanese license-built version of the German Daimler-Benz DB 601 12 cylinder liquid-cooled inverted V engine, the engine used in the Bf 109, Bf 110, and Do 215.
This was the only inverted V, and the only liquid-cooled engine used by Japanese aircraft during WW2 and it was only used in the Kawasaki Ki-61 .

Whilst we were away recently we found a diorama that included the cathedral used as a filming location for King's Landing in Game of Thrones, so naturally we took a suitable photo and 'shopped a background in.
