Cordless tyre inflator.

My airhawk has gone bang. Bit shit anyway. Both car's lose pressure. Mondeo down to 25 on fronts this morning, 35 last weekish. Should I put a bit of gunge in them.

What out there, what's any good, any recommendations.?

Does it have to be cordless? I got this one for my Dad a bit more than a year ago as his Golf was losing pressure in a couple of the tyres.

Still going strong, used it last week. It's not the fanciest but it's quick enough & I don't have to keep it charged up. A bargain at £20.

No, definitely not. Either take the wheels to a repairer or get the wheel off and spray soapy water on them until you find the leak and decide what to do then.

One of the tyres on Siobhan's car was slowly leaking so I took it off at the weekend for a look. I found a nail in the tread so fixed that puncture but also found that the rim had cracked and was slowly leaking air. I'm fine with the puncture repair but the cracked rim is definitely not ok to be left. I wouldn't be happy with any tyre goop solving either problem.

Why not get a compressor? Aldi/Lidl do them for cheap a couple of times a year and once you've got one you'd wonder how you ever managed without it.

I bought one of these a few months back, I got fed up trailing a long lead round the car with the engine running.
It was a bit pricey and needs an old style micro usb charger but seems like a nice bit of kit.

I've had one of these for over a year and it's great. I've never had to fully inflate a tyre but it's got enough to top up the car and the bike on one charge and it holds it's charge for a long time. I've topped up to 42 psi with it. I'm sure it would fully inflate a tyre if I needed it to.

I bought a cheap Goodyear branded one last year. Its barrel shaped with reference number GY900019 on the box. Has proved almost useless and only good for blowing up balloons. I took it apart to see if it could be fixed but basically the tiny reciprocating pump won't do anything until it gets hot or is primed with WD40. So sloppy piston or bad non-return valve I suppose. It also seems to have a nasty battery of unknown chemistry that doesn't charge properly.

I have a much bigger double ended 12 volt pump which I use with old bike batteries which I maintain on solar panels in my shed. This one is good enough to reseat car and bike tyres after changing them. Not exactly cordless but easy enough to carry around with a 7AH battery.

How often are you lot inflating tyres, both our cars are over 15 years old and the tyres don't need inflating between their annual services.

This looks awesome. Handy both for the garage/bike but also in my 'driving' bag for winter!! LOL

I do think it's weird, but we often have to check tyre pressures/add air to the minibuses up here which I guess is due to driving up and down 1500-2000m multiple times a week. Apparently the change in altitude can affect the tyres and/or the sensors!

I have a fairly beefy bicycle pump that I have used for the moto, but it's not kind to my arm, so I figure an electric thing that also shows the tyre pressure would be handy

Get a cheap Lidl/Aldi compressor, FFS.

Cheaper combined than a compressor, take up a whole lot less space, are always right there where the tyres are, and a whole hell of a lot more convenient to use.

My tyres don't hold a lot of air and after several damaged wheels and tyres I'm a bit obsessive about checking pressures. A small cordless one works well for me as it's much easier to frequently check and add a little bit.

I tried two Lidl tyre compressors, the air lines on both soon broke so I gave up with them.
