If they all cost the same the Honda would win, but they're all a bit odd looking, none of them give me that "I must have that" feeling, or even that "I want that" feeling.
I also wonder if the reason I'd buy the Honda is because of the concept 80s styled CB1000 that Honda made a few years ago.
I really liked Weeksy's XSR to ride, it was a great bike. That engine is a peach and the new one has even more go.

Do MoT testers actually check for the presence of a cat on Euro4/5 bikes? I replaced the ugly, heavy cat (weighs about 5 kilos and interferes with oil changes) on my Duke 690 with a straight through pipe and my MoT tester didn't bat an eyelid. I note that Akrapovic do a full system for the XSR (for an eye-watering £1900) - I wonder if that retains the cat? Removal of the cat and a re-flash should pep it up a bit...

Watched a exhaust and ECU remap vid and the headline hp numbers are quite disappointing,and 114. Torque is really good though, which means at least it will feel fast!

105 is, which is pretty consistent with other 'independent' dynos.
No idea what my gen1 made stock but a full akra, filter, snorkel mod and generic flash gave 119 at a local and notoriously parsimonious tuners dyno. (The dyno, not the tuner btw)

OK, I think I'd be pretty pleased with a 9hp gain, especially if the torque is boosted, and assuming there are decent gains in the midrange as well. That's where a bike like this will spend most of its life, after all.

The best feature of an ecu flash is a sweeter running bike,no nasty fuel cut snatchiness. Any bhp or torque gains are a by product,for me anyway. To own and ride the bike as it was designed before the eco goons compromise it,is the real prize.

I know it's just me, and I'm a bit weird in this respect, but the fact that the Yam is rocking a CP3 motor and not an IL4 is a major point of attraction for me. I've never owned a triple (and I don't really fancy a Triumph for some odd reason). And 100-120bhp is more than enough for me. Any more would be wasted.

They sold the triple as the torque of a twin and the top end of a four.
What it actually had was nowhere near the top end of a four and less torque than a twin. It didn't excel anywhere. I hope the Yam CP3 is betterer.

Why limit yourself to disliking the XS750 engine? They were an ugly, overweight slug, only marginally improved by boring it out to 850cc.
