Freezer compartment of a fridge alway dripping water
The fridge is fine - the drain in that is not blocked.
But the bottom of the freezer compartment is always dripping water.
My theories are:
a) it's been humid
b) the fridge is over full
My wife's is
c) the freezer compartment is buggered
It does ice up a lot - and is on door No 3.
Any ideas?

Re: Freezer compartment of a fridge alway dripping water
Had a problem with our fridge/freezer one (hot) year. Turned out that the heat exchanger was iced solid. You couldn't see it and it was supposed to be all auto defrost. Ran the freezer stuff down, bought a cheapish back up fridge and moved all the fridge stuff into that and switched it off - collecting the water as it thawed out over a few days. No problems since (touch wood).Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 4:13 pm The fridge is fine - the drain in that is not blocked.

It did get noisier too but quietened down after thawing out.
(It was the local electricals shop that told me what the problem was likely to be).

Had exactly the same thing on my Samsung 'American' style one, they're known for it. Count's fix worked, as did opening it up and removing a bit of polystyrene with a stanley knife

There was an old non politically correct fella I worked with a long time ago and his favourite expression when referring to the secretary was, she's dripping like a knackered fridge.
Not sure how this helps, but good look.

Unfortunately mine is built in ... access is not good, so Count's suggestion will hopefully work.porter_jamie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 8:00 pm There was an old non politically correct fella I worked with a long time ago and his favourite expression when referring to the secretary was, she's dripping like a knackered fridge.

Has it got levelling feet? If so you might be able to slide a shallow tray under it and push it to the back if it thaws and drips from the heat exchanger. You could possibly direct a fan heater under it too - it should vent at the top so you get a flow over the exchanger. That'll speed things up.
