Just watching her cortege on the news. I had no idea she was that popular or left such a legacy! Hell of a turn out!Taipan wrote: Wed Jul 26, 2023 7:15 pm Sinead O'Conner. A troubled girl...

The cynic in me thinks it'll be a lot of people who just want to be seen.

Rodruigez, the Searching for Sugar Man musician.
If you've never seen the film, you really ought to. And if you've never listened to his albums then you should do that as well.

Re: Just Dead Celebrity Express Thread !
I hadn't until I saw the film about 10 years ago. The story blew my mind, it was crazy. Started listening to the albums then and got completely hooked. He really should've been a whole lot more successful, he was very much in the wrong place and time I think.Taipan wrote: Wed Aug 09, 2023 8:29 pmI did try and am quite intriqued. Liked his solo work. V fond of 'Contact from the Underworld of Redboy'.
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.
Re: Just Dead Celebrity Express Thread !
Crazy coincidence here...! I have a musician mate, and we regularly share acts/bands with each other that we reckon the other should listen to. I got him into Rodruigez years ago, and he spent an evening a couple of years back showing me Robbie Robertson videos online as he's a massive fan. He also then leant me The Last Waltz DVD which, I admit, I've still not got round to watching and is in a drawer somewhere
He texted me yesterday to tell me Rodruigez had died, and said we should re-watch the Sugarman film. Definitely, I said, next time you come round we'll watch it. And then we can watch that The Last Waltz DVD, he said, it'll be a cool double-bill.
Anyway, he then of course texted me first thing this morning about Robbie Robertson. Best not suggest anything else for a triple-bill...
