Aww Steve that's sad and it really isn't your fault- I appreciate that I will never see it the way you do as I am just an occasional visitor to this (excellent IMO ) forum, I haven't invested the time and emotions etc into it that you have, but at the end of it all it is (I think ? ) just a forum- a great one, but if people disagree, so what- let them , or ban them IMO, don't let it affect your life outside of it- I know that's easy for me to say , as I'm not you and don't see what you do, but facts remain, it is just a forum and I don't understand why it has to be like this

I was going to post a reply to @Potter 's post on page 1 just to let him know that the ONLY person I was referring to was yorick ( FWIW to Potter or anyone else I couldn’t see anything contentious in what potter posted, I think he got it pretty much spot on in his responses to the unjustified (IMO) personal attacks on him and I thought his apology to yorick was very gracious, but completely unjustified and unnecessary, ( as I thought @Screwdriver 's to yozza were too ... )

Anyway, enough I feel, I'm sorry for starting this thread and will happily delete it if it's causing upset, that really is the last thing I wanted :(

There is one person I never interact with on here, but he's at the centre of every thread which turns nasty, always trolling and stirring the pot. He did exactly the same on TRC and he's doing it again here.

The fact that folk keep feeding the troll is not your fault, weeksy, there can't be anyone who doesn't appreciate the often thankless task you have.

I would never blame a moderator. It's a thankless task. People are strange. I have a mate who managed a Facebook page about, literally, photos of whippets. (No, I don't either). It took over his life fielding complaints from morons who weren't happy simply sharing photos of whippets. 'Report' should be used to report illegality, not to massage hurt feelings.

I think I've noticed an uptick in bike related content today though.

Let's not turn this into a wankfest lads, even though I do appreciate it, honest. I'm just a little surprised how things have progressed here

Include me out of that list. I think you have shown some remarkable restraint. I do think you made a wrong decision but you put that right after some pretty fearsome argument. A lesser person would never change their decision with a character such as mine. Sorry about that but respect is due. Thanks (again).

Every group has an arsehole. If you aren't sure who that is. Then maybe it's you.
You are a bunch of grown men. Sort it out for fucks sake. It's embarrassing. Just let it go. Move on. Post something interesting about motorbikes.

If you don't like it on here, then feel free to not bother.

Being a mod on here used to be no issue at all - however just like my experiences of other sites, sooner or later, the naughty kids start to blame the mods.

Or maybe this place should just close down because Ant and Potter seem to be intent on delivering it to the underworld ?
Nothing to do with me. I was not involved in the Todays News spat which saw the thread locked. However, I think Potter was just giving as good as he got, against a person which someone has just noted is "at the centre of every thread which turns nasty, always trolling and stirring the pot. He did exactly the same on TRC and he's doing it again here."

So either maybe think, yeah he's having some of that back, or do as what happened with the locking maybe. Who know.s

Potter wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 2:36 pm Just for the record, I have no issues with Yorick, I think he's ok, we all have our bad days and at the end of the day it is just a forum, I don't think I'd like to be part of anything where one person is singled out and got at.

I let off a bit of steam here but let's keep it just on the forum, I've said before I'd happily buy anyone off here a pint in real life if they were nice and met me with a smile and said hello.
Agreed, it shouldn't get personal. I think some do take it quite to heart here which I guess can happen. Even some of the stuff I say, I think some take it at the wrong angle. I don't want to get into naming names but I only mentioned one or two things and someone came in and mentioned names, which to me suggests said person is aware of an issue. With me it's just more of, if you're going to say things or act a certain way, then it's likely at some point someone is going to say something back. Like some of the stuff I say, if someone says something back because they don't agree, then fine, I can deal with that quite happily - it's called having a discussion, critical thinking, throwing it at a few angles etc. :obscene-drinkingcheers:

If there's critical thinking on here, some of you are keeping it well hidden. :p
