Years ago my girlfriend's flat got burgled. Back then they used to send round the crime prevention officer to give you advice. He recommended we fit window locks. I said into soft wood, whats the point? He said next door doesn't have them...

Bloody hell! I doubt I could lift that on and off the bike - pretty pointless if I need someone to help me lock the bike up!!

I also have a monimoto tracker on all my vehicles. These are excellent. If I even move my bike 5 feet to wash it and dont have the keyfob with me it'll ring me straight away. The best thing is they run off their own power supply (2 x aa batteries) so when thieves look at battery terminals for anything other than oem wires they wont disconnect the monimoto. After the £129 purchase price, they are about £35 a year for the sim card.

I think its aimed primarily at bicycles and going through the frame like this



But given its dimensions, i think you might be able to put it around the wheel rim on some alloy wheeled bikes?

I'm very lax with security,probably because I've not ever had a bike stolen in over 50 years. I regularly forget to remove the keys from the bikes. I suppose it's easy to be smug when you haven't been stung.

Very little vehicle theft here as can't get a vehicle off the islands.
But still got the GSXR alarmed. I'm a worrier

One of our maintenance guys dropped the Ducati keys off to me. I'd left them in the ignition. Not teh first time i've done it either. It's when people stop and talk to me I forget what I'm doing I suppose?

Be interesting how many bikes are stolen via lockpicking. I'd hazard a guess at very very few. I've often thought how his video's may change that After all lockpicking could look like you are just unlocking your bike or doing some maintenance vs attacking a lock with a big fug off angle grinder.

Yeah, pretty sure my mates GP100 was the same.

Knocking the ignition off just grounded the power to the ignition so pulling the lead meant it was ON again.
No lights though.
