So that's why there were cameramen on the A44 the other weekend - I didn't know that was a thing outside of trackdays.

Anyone know who does Wales other than bikerpics - I check their site but they weren't there 20/09/2020...

I took a run down to Barnard Castle, then over towards Reeth

Then up Swaledale and over Buttertubs to Hawes

Note how the barrier has been designed to slice bikers into manageable slices so it's easier for the emergency services to recover them.

I had planned to stop at Hawes for a cuppa but the place was heaving so I carried on down to Ingleton and stopped at Devil's Bridge for a cuppa and a sandwich. I carried on up to Sedbergh - there were two accidents along this stretch of road, both involving bikes and one with an ambulance in attendance :(

After Sedbergh I carried on to Middleton-in-Teesdale, down to Bishop Aucland and then home for tea. About 170 miles on all sorts of roads from fast open A roads to twisty hairpins and even a mile or two with grass growing in the middle of the road. Although it was busy in places, for a lot of the time there was no traffic, no houses (and no petrol stations)
Is that a 696? I had a ride on my Mate's 696 last week, what a scream, so nimble and light but with big v twin sound (his has termis), such good fun :)

Mine's a 1100. Pretty much the same bike as a 696 but with a whole extra 15bhp

I had some errands to run this afternoon, including a bit of supermarket shopping, was all set to jump in the car as I thought the roads were a bit shit, but changed my mind and so glad I did, it was the first time for ages I've ridden the Multi without a pillion, and again ( pretty sure it did before), it made me question whether I really need the 765- she is a big old girl, with quite possibly the widest bars ever fitted to a motorbike, but that's part of it, it's like a (very) big supermoto, great fun, and because of that, what should have been a 15 mile ride turned into 80.

No really interesting pics but in case anyone has forgotten what one looks like, this is mine (or more accurately, it's hers, I should say) ;) , relaxing after a jolly good work-out.

I still think that all top boxes look naff and unless you are a courier ( and hence have a valid excuse) they are for NERDs and IAM riders only but yeah, I will concede they are very very useful things :)

Took the Street Triple out a few times in the last couple of weeks. Too much of a distraction though as I need to get my garden sorted (nearly done!) and the bikes are parked up 20.miles away.

Weather still lovely.

That's probably, or maybe, a nice looking bike, but all I saw was the hideous top box! Luggage just kills a bikes lines, even though its sometimes a necessary evil! Cant you pay someone a handsome sum to follow up with your required goods on a scooter? Asking for a friend... :hmmm:

Went book shopping.
Snap, sort of. Got to Fri afternoon and it was still dry. Mrs reminded me I needed some tea as she was out at a mates in the evening. Grabbed my car keys, thought better of it and took the bike. Tesco is 2 miles away, I did 22 miles :D

Managed to shoehorn a pizza and a loaf of bread into the topbox nicely

I love waking up and seeing this view from the hotel especially when the roads are dry and the sun is shining
It seems I didn't include everything from that day : I got a letter yesterday informing me of a €90 speeding fine. No one else in the group has one (yet). Just hope it's the only one. Kind of thought we were beyond the time to receive them but it seems not. Ho hum - it's a fair cop!

I took the Guzzi for a ride round the Surrey Hills yesterday, and ended up stopping for a stroll near Leith Hill, but the cool air and my COPD did not play nicely together, especially on the uphill bits. I am just about to go for a pootle on the Soopadook. A fairly energetic pootle I suspect. Heading for the back lanes of the Weald because I like exploring, and think I've done the North Downs, and I never seem to be able to interest anyone in a meet up at Box Hill these days.

Another cold early morning run,a bit of mizzle here and there too, just to make me more cautious than usual.

Later on the day brightened up nicely, but I had several lawns to mow and other boring schitt,so fun over for today.

I try to steal days here and there until the council starts spreading the salt around, then that's it until the Spring.

Glenarm Harbour.

Weekend in North Devon with the TRF, some superb lanes.

Love this one along the coast west out of Ilfracombe.

Somebody should have filmed this brake actually locking the wheel today.

More of a comment on tyres &/or road surface than the brakes?

My old man dropped his A65 on the brakes... on a 'shell gripped' roundabout. We couldn't work out how he managed it.

Yeah the tarmac was damp.

Tyre is one of these, with not much wear. https://www.maxxis.co.uk/catalog/tyre-3 ... ssic-m6011

They made A65s with twin leading shoe brakes. And he was not going in a straight line!
