Tree cutting today. I had to cut back a pittosporum which had become oversized and was blocking one of the garden lights. The fucking rain didn't even give me a break on the last day of a really wet July. Cnut. :(

At least the shitty weather is saving me a fortune in E5.

Did my regular Monday stroll around the countryside. Had to do a bit of a double take at the end though. In the village where we start and finish there's an old building (used to be the fire station when the fire engine was horse drawn, now it's the public bogs) being painted/renovated by two young chaps. One had parked his bike there. Shiny, black with L plates on. Wossat? thinks I, looks a bit big for an L bike. Closer inspection reveals it's a new AJS!

Turns out they import from China and then rebadge them. They do scooters too.

*sigh*

Finally sorted out the hose bibtap!
Bloody thing was leaking through the shaft and of course the guy that fitted the plumbing was a brit using brit sizes, so no chance of an insert fitting or simply a new bibtap!
Found my bumper box of O rings et voila, we have a winner.
Hopefully that will be a few brownie points for the week, till I ferk something up!

Need to go borrow a mates oven when she's back cos -

Got back to work after lunch yesterday and my bosses wife said "need to talk to you, we've got a problem" :o :o :o

So I went into the office and she said "So, when you started you said you make loads of cake - but we haven't seen any"

Fear to laughter in seconds!

But she's right :( My oven isn't working and whilst it's not really an issue for me daily cos I have a pressure cooker and an air fryer, it does mean that I can't make cakes :(

Here's hoping I can pop down to my mates chalet at the weekend and make some to keep the bosses happy!!
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

But chest pain could be loads including stuff like gallstones
Felt like the worst indigestion I'd ever had, lasted a good day and a half before I asked the wife to take me to hospital.

Booked tickets for the wife and son to fly to Hungary and be with her brother. Their father passed away a year ago today.

Watched movie with the family this evening in our living room, nice to be together.

Walked the dog in the morning before the great deluge.

Posted the daughters PIP application.

Bought 12 bottles of ale/bitter.

Cleared some stuff out of the lounge.

Helped my wife get her UTC sorted for HMRC Self Assessment Tax thingy. We have an advisor now as we rent our home and I'm a minister of religion with all the tax issues around that. Pay £170 a year for TMC to sort out our tax affairs.

Sorted out something else, but cannot remember what as I've had a large glass of Highland Park this evening and the mind is now leaking facts and mulling on the good things of life.

I think that is enough ruminations over the days affairs. Hic....

Fired up the MIG & fixed an outdoor umbrella stand. Managed not to set the garage carpet on fire, but did install a few more holes in one of my Tshirts & did the "My foot is on fire!" dance when something glowing & red went into one of my boots... which I hadn't bothered to lace up.
Can't finish the job because we're out of black hammertone Rustoleum paint... maybe use brown instead for some contrast on the part.

Thursday night is music night......again
Cracking band tonight with a very fit bassist.
Only issue was their sound guy set them up for Wembley stadium, but they were playing a salle des fetes.

I've not killed my wife. Yet.

I'm sure if I did the jury would downgrade it to man slaughter after hearing the evidence.

Jackpot is now $1,350,000,000 ($415,522,045 after taxes etc). The $1.35Billion is over 30 years of investing, the actual cash on hand is $659,500,000 (chump change...)
$659,500,000 minus taxes gives you the $415,522,045.
