I first heard of her back in the 80's when she sang Mandinka,I thought that she had a great voice,but quickly concluded that she was a mad bird.
She seems to have had lots of troubles over the years & whenever she made the news for something other than her singing it always seemed to be for something negative.

It occurs to me that i'm not aware of any of her music other than nothing compares 2 u. Did she have much chart success with other stuff?

I bought her first album when I was 12 or 13 after seeing her on TOTP, but she tended to fly under the chart radar for the most part.
