Re: In todays news...
Dame Alison Rose has resigned from her job as the boss of Nat West. Quite right too.
If the person at the top of an organisation can't honour confidentiality rules they should never be in that sort of job.
She'll probably take over as CEO of Santander UK soon.

With a large goodbye bung no doubt.
Rose should be prosecuted.DT wrote: A City chief executive earlier on Tuesday said: “She has broken the cardinal rule of banking. An FCA investigation is inevitable now. Her position is untenable and she should resign. It’s ridiculous the board is backing her given the seriousness of the offence.”

https://futurism.com/the-byte/reality-t ... s-cheating
Just when you think reality TV can't stoop any lower, it does it yet again. To wit: in fresh new manmade horror, a Netflix reality show called "Falso Amor," which translates to "Deep Fake Love," splits five real-life couples up into two different houses, adds a bunch of hot singles to the mix, and then subjects individuals to the experience of watching their partner cheat on them in videos that may or may not be deepfaked.
...
In another particularly dark turn, per Decider, part of the premise of the show is that the couples didn't actually know that they would be subjected to the deepfaked clips.

We seem to have gone from the Romans having a physical injury as entertainment to us now having psychological injury as entertainment.

I'm starting to think the police are no better than journalists, chasing the big career maker and not giving a shit who is ruined along the way.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-66291461The jury has returned its verdicts: Kevin Spacey has been found not guilty on all nine counts of sexual offences.

It rejected his case twice, but his team says the commission could have carried out new DNA analysis and reviewed the police's files.
Appeal then launched legal action against GMP, demanding to see those files.
Ultimately, it was the charity's work - not the CCRC's or GMP's - that identified the new DNA evidence in March 2021, thanks to advances in the science.

Bloke spends 17 years in jail for rape he didn't do.

7 years for the rape, plus 10 extra for not admitting his crime. Something is rotten in the Criminal Justice system. No evidence except one 'witness', no DNA, and he looked nothing like the photofit, but hey, a conviction is a conviction, looks good on the stats.

This is becoming more of an issue, the authorities are more bothered with 'not enough rape accusations result in conviction', then the feminists and extremists kick off over it, when in fact, maybe it's because they're false. Not enough is done about those who lie about an assault, the lives destroyed by lies and false accusations is unacceptable.

Re: In todays news...
The other thing that really worries me is the insistence on admitting your crime in prison. If you were innocent yet found guilty you will probably never, ever, admit to the crime you didn't do. So that is no parole for you then sunshine, you will need to serve you full term, whilst others are out in 1/2 the time or less.

And the next kick in the teeth he gets is that after any compensation is awarded the Prison Service take a large chunk for "room and board".Yorick wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 8:40 pmI saw that.
