I've not ridden a Rapide, but the Comet was nice, if much heavier than it needed to be for a 500 single.

I was more referring to the butchered featherbed.

The pics are a bit indistinct, but it looks like the in-unit Vincent gearbox has been sawn off the back of the engine and an AMC gearbox used.

I mean where they've been cut away and the mounting plates welded in.

It's not necessary - it IS possible to get the Rapide engine into the frame without cutting the rails (albeit hard work)

Forgot the left hand lever was the clutch and not the rear brake (I had a Mobecane field moped at the time), and instead of slowing it just kept going. Through some bushes and a wooden fence panel.

No damage to the FSIE, but I ripped the bottom of the leg of my loon pants.
