Seems the At came with the Bridgestones on as oem fitment but many ditch them in favour of the Anakees, so maybe i'll have to jump ship...KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 11:49 am My GS came with a brand new pair of Bridgestone A41s on it.
I wouldn't have picked them (I'd have gone for Anakees), but they are actually alright, cheaper than most too.

Don't rule out Conti Trail Attacks too.
I was very impressed with how quickly they warmed up on my Varadero. They're the same compound as the Road Attacks, but with twice the tread depth.

I always went with Metzeler Tourance on that style of bike but did used to see a fair bit of 'not tarmac' although they're fine for the road, particularly in winter.

My wife's 2016 F700GS came with them OEM fit and I had a pair of Anakee 2's on my Varadero when the Conti's expired.Skub wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:29 pmCan you get Anakee in the UK?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 11:49 am My GS came with a brand new pair of Bridgestone A41s on it.

Re: NBT: I've just bought my forever bike!
Would deffo do that as a matter of course.A_morti wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 12:59 pm My fz had been cleaned with silicon spray too often and/or had oil/brake fluid spilled on the front brakes and they didn't work well at all.
Took the discs and pads out, cleaned the calipers on the bike (didn't take much) and the friction components at the sink. Lots of soap, lots of scrubbing, and repeat. And repeat. And repeat.
They work like they should now.
Even if you find pads in there you wouldn't have picked, clean them up properly and give them another shot. Clean the discs too, whether you change or keep the pads.
Had a very enjoyable ride home tonight and in Sport mode 2 and was pleasantly surprised at how grunt it does have. This also lead to a bit more use of the brakes and they did start to grab a bit more. Just shone alight in the caliper and can see some gold coloured pads in there. So I reckon i'm right, its got sintered/HH pads in. I'll pull the calipers at the weekend to be sure and if it has order up some OEM Honda pads.
I did notice some buffeting on it tonight so had a quick investigation into screens. Seems Honda offers, short, standard and touring versions and of course other manufacturers have offerings too. Due to the bikes popularity, there are plenty of s/hand options, so it wont be an expensive mod to make. I've got a couple of those clip on deflectors somewhere too, but I'm not that keen on the look of them?

Re: NBT: I've just bought my forever bike!
Too many options leads to much confusion for moi! Seems to be a lot of mixed reviews around tyres on these bikes! I think i'd best keep reading up on it for now...
Re: NBT: I've just bought my forever bike!
I used about 5 pairs of anakees on my Tiger and really liked the way that they handled. At about £230 a pair and lasted about 8 - 10k miles, they weren't expensive to run.

Funny i've just read a few reports of them as being an excellent "pavement tyre", so they may well suit me as well?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:22 pm Don't rule out Conti Trail Attacks too.

Re: NBT: I've just bought my forever bike!
The front wore a bit funny on the big old 'Dero, but they were the original Trail Attacks, I think there's a 2 or maybe even a 3 now.Taipan wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 8:37 amFunny i've just read a few reports of them as being an excellent "pavement tyre", so they may well suit me as well?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:22 pm Don't rule out Conti Trail Attacks too.

I've never had a tyre feel like you could push on as quickly as the Conti's, felt like you could ride 100% within a mile of setting off.
This was the rear after a two up lap of the 'ring with all the luggage still on...

Dunno what the T&Cs are of your Ride app/subscription regarding electronic transmission of content is. I suspect if you delve deeply enough it's
So, as it's only Tinpie that's currently expressed an interest I suggest PM. If others want a copy they can ask you.
That's probably the counsel of legal perfection but, as you've asked the question....
