It's forgotten to stop raining here since the middle of June. July is set to be similar. The bike hasn't turn a wheel.

It was a little liberating getting rained on coming home Tuesday as my bike is now dirty. Just gonna lube the chain and crack on now as I'm worried about it getting more dirty.

I think nature is telling me to get out on the Speed Triple, and leave the Himalayan at home for a while.

Zuki time this week, nipped to the bike shop for some fork oil as I'm planning on doing the oil on the Street Triple,Spares dept doesn't open on a Sunday
Still,it's been a nice day for a ride.
I called in at one of my mate's on the way home to see were they're up to on the Grnd designs project. They're hoping to move in by Autumn.
I've got home before the rain starts, again, now to watch the BSB from Snetterton

Went out on the old LC just to blow some cobwebs off (literally) but ended up staying out and put a tank and a half of fuel through it.
It caught me out a couple of times, the front came up in second out of a bend and then I must have caught it just right into third as well because it came up a smidge then too.

We went for a ride through the Forest of Bowland & over to the Dales today.
It's over a decade since I last took the Slaidburn to Bentham road.I ended up taking my mates to one of my favourite MTB cafes.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
The last couple of days haven’t been ideal
Yesterday while training 2 lads for Mod 2 test picked up a 1 inch screw so managed to limp back and plug in a repair
Then today the local authority decided that the perfectly smooth and undamaged road from our training base needed to be turned into a deep gravel track ffs
Even the lads doing the work said “it’s made it way worse than it was before we started” ….. no shit Sherlock

On a positive note it's a opportunity to show the pupils that you don't need a new tyre when it's punctured in the middle & give the pupils some experience on loose road surfaces.

An unsympathetic person may comment, you are well used to having your rear plugged, but doing it yourself requires a special skillset.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
It did turn into a "how to plug a tyre " lesson as we had a full day with 6 pupils between 3 instructors all on training for Mod 2 tests. I had dumped my bike once i saw the screw and taken a spare school bike so on the mid session break for lunch i plugged the tyre with an audience, most of whom didnt know it was an option, so explained the kit and showed how to use it.Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 7:42 pm On a positive note it's a opportunity to show the pupils that you don't need a new tyre when it's punctured in the middle & give the pupils some experience on loose road surfaces.

The brand new loose gravel was a little weird for everyone but i led the training group out as i have done it before on Norwegian mountain roads as one of my colleagues who is really good on Mod 1 training stuff and normal roads but had never ridden on anything loose before was a bit nervous of it so i was just chatting on the radio and follow my line and "do NOT grab the front brake and keep everything smooth" .. It all went well and the worries went very quickly

French/Swiss Alps, most of the time spent on mtb, but got several road trips in on the bike, roads are simply awesome.

How many instructors does it take to fix a puncture? Two ordinary trainees were not harmed, merely bemused. The Spin Doctor wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 9:48 am
