But here's a :D

Astana have offered Cav a ride in the 2024 Tour. (I'm betting he'll take it).

Well that was a bit of a crusher for a certain rider but the race is on...500m....

(This Tour is a bit like a review of my old holibobs...they keep riding up things I've clambered up  )

I like the fact that there were no spectators on Le Puy.
I enjoy watching Le tour, but I find the 'Fans' crowding the riders really irritating,it's like someones took the special people out for a day trip, dressed them up in cycling gear & given the proper special ones a dry flare for everyone to inhale
Good to see Woods get his maiden victory

Part of me doesn't.... HE's joint most stage wins ever... that's quite a nice finish to things if you ask me. Both sets of fans get to say "won the most stages ever"... Both are of course correct.

He's worked hard, incredibly hard for years and years... take the rest, call it a day and enjoy it :)

Agree.

But I'll stake money that he says 'yes'. It's all part of the 'sprinters psyche'. They're just not like 'normal' humans...not even the other Tour riders. If he'd got just 1 stage win this Tour he'd have retired a happy man but....

If he's still competing at the sharp end, why finish. 🤷‍♂️

Ok....if he's lost the love.

Bit like JM and the TT.

IT's a fair point...arguably he'd have maybe won the other day without the minor mechanical.... but he was clearly at the least, the 2nd fastest guy on the planet that day :)

I quite enjoyed today. It wasn't a sprint or a mountain stage but as these things go, lone leader, chasing groups etc, pretty good. Dunno what Ineos are doing or think they're doing - I'm not convinced they do either.

Oh yeah, they ended up some else I've been, Issoire. :D

I felt sorry for him getting caught, but I never thought he had enough of a lead.
Listening to the riders it was a real tough stage, should be interesting to see how they recover.

Should be a straight sprinters day today. The peleton/GC teams should get chance to recover a bit.

(They're still tracking my old holibobs :D Clermont-Ferrand is worth a visit. Quite historique. It's the home of Michelin too).

It was more interesting than a rest day. :D

It makes me wonder why the likes of Sagan and Ewan keep going, it must be pretty dispiriting to go up and down the mountains etc day after day (year after year now in Sagan's case) and be so far off the sharp end when the chips are down.

I'm sure Sagan announced a few weeks ago that this would be his last year

Todays race was hard, they've already raced hard on a few stages.I can't see UAE keeping up that pace for a few more stages.
Already looking forward to tomorrow's stage

Tomorrow looks tougher and the next day's ride is mountains again. I guess this phase is the equivalent of the sorting hat. Pog actually signalled his intentions for this phase in the interview at the start but the commentators seemed surprised by the tactics.

(First glimpse of Mont Blanc today....haven't climbed that one  ).

Riding some of the Stages/locations is something I really ought to have done

That window has gone now though really
