On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at approximately 2:57 P.M., the Los Angeles Communications Center broadcast a call of a traffic collision with a motorcycle rider down on the Northbound SR-14 to Avenue L off-ramp in the city of Lancaster. CHP Antelope Valley Area officers responded to the scene and upon arrival, were advised the motorcycle rider had been shot. The victim, Henry Gonzalez, (male, Hispanic adult) 37 years of age, was pronounced deceased on-scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.
On Friday, July 7, 2023, at approximately 3:00 P.M., detectives from the CHP Southern Division Major Crimes Unit arrested Jesse Cupido and Isabel Cortez in Sun Valley for the murder of Henry Gonzalez.

UPDATE 3: shooter was riding a black motorcycle with a female passenger…motorcycle was with a group of 5 other motorcycles…DPs possibly wearing Vagos vest…shooting occurred on NB14 at Avenue S…one victim shot in the face and neck, 2nd victim shot in arm…weapon used was a black handgun with pink handgrips…Air 29 enroute
UPDATE 4: vehicle was a black Harley Davidson road bike with one tailpipe…rider was a male, Hispanic, adult wearing a denim vest with Vagos logo on back…shooter was female, passenger on bike…shooter is a female, Hispanic, adult, long braided hair and a tattoo sleeve on one arm wearing a blue denim vest with “property of” on back
UPDATE 5: CHP Officer sees 12 Vagos riders 200th Street East and Pearblossom Highway…Air29 enroute
UPDATE 6: victims were driving a white 2023 VW Jetta
UPDATE 7: there were 3 small fires started near 155th Street East and Pearblossom Highway…CHP believe these fires are suspicious…fires possibly lit as a diversion to law enforcement
UPDATE 8: SigAlert issued for all NB lanes of Highway 14…all lanes blocked for unknown duration due to shooting investigation

Freeway has been closed for about three hours so far.

People stuck on the freeway are reporting groups of bikers all hauling ass North through the stopped traffic & dozens of them already at the scene.
