BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02
https://www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/en/exper ... -ce02.html
You can ride it on a CBT like a petrol moped. £7.5k.
It's going to revolutionise the youth and their urban mobility.
It's quite funky.

Tidy
But is a 30 mile range enough for a modern yoofStill, the actual thing is very cool indeed. It’s designed with urban areas in mind so comes with a 15bhp motor and a 3.92kWh battery that allows for a range of over 55 miles and a top speed of almost 60mph. Although if you’re younger/only have a car licence, you may be able to ride the less powerful 4bhp version. That can do 28mph and gets 28 miles of range to match.

Seems daft, if they have a 60 mile range battery why limit the range on a kid friendly version

Corporate monolith trying to get down and appeal to Yoof. What could possibly go wrong?

Re: BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02
Battery power and battery size are inextricably linked....bigger bat, more juice to run the motor. That's why you have some many mega powerful EV. Fit a big battery for long range, get loads of BHP for free.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 9:37 pm Seems daft, if they have a 60 mile range battery why limit the range on a kid friendly version
Works the other way too of course, you can downsize to a low power/range and maker it cheaper. You don't have to cap the range but the two go conveniently together.

Re: BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02
I'd ride that.
But £7.5k for a 125 with a shit range? Honestly, they must be smoking crack. A super soco TC max has the same performance for a little half the money.

Re: BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02
The CE 04 pretty much shows the principle - 75mph top speed* and an 80 mile range and it looks quite a bit bigger. I'd have one of those but not at £12.5k.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 10:45 pmBattery power and battery size are inextricably linked....bigger bat, more juice to run the motor. * I assume they've limited it to that.

Re: BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02
I quite like it BTW.
If I was in the market for a 7 grand runaround I can't really use on the MK grid system, this would be top of my list!
I'd probably be better off with the skateboard TBH.

The skateboard thing is pretty naff but if it's just an option then fair enough. I like the styling of the CE range but they need more cargo capacity.

Re: BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02
I've ridden the CE04 a couple of times for extended periods in work and it's actually really good. It's obviously not a motorbike, it's a scooter but rode, went and handled much better than I thought it would.
I would expect this one to be as good.
The prices are still a bit salty though. I guess the price thing is one of the major hurdles now for EV's, whether car or bikes.

Re: BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02
There are two versions... an 11kW learner legal, and a 28 mph restricted moped version that can be ridden at 16.
At £7.5k???It's going to revolutionise the youth and their urban mobility.
