Recommend me a speaker(s)
Stand alone Bluetooth speaker. One to sit on a shelf, not a smaller portable one.
I thought I'd decided on a Sonos One and a One SL paired for stereo, then discovered they don't stream Bluetooth audio... I've got a Bluetooth Sony record player I want to use them with.
Upto around £400.

I'd highly recommend Audio Pro for Bluetooth wireless - https://www.audiopro.com/en/
We also have Sonos thorough the downstairs of the house but the Audio Pro probably sounds better and more convenient. Richer Sounds often do good deals on them too.

Slightly over budget but a mate has one of these and they sound really good.

I have the soundlink II which also sounds wicked.

Re: Recommend me a speaker(s)
We have a Bose.
It must be fairly old now because I don't see it listed anywhere any more.
It works.
If I was to buy another I'd get one of those JBL ones, because they're great, and I do sometimes wish the Bose was portable.

The Audio Pro stuff looks good, but I'm not sure about the 'retro' looking ones. The A15 might fit the bill.

Re: Recommend me a speaker(s)
The deck is connected to the AV amp at the moment by the phono stage, but I want to move it into the back room were there's no audio stuff. It's got Bluetooth so I don't have to have the deck near the speaker(s).
I like the idea that the Pro Audio stuff, even though they're larger room speakers still have a battery so I could have it out side when I'm sat in the garden having a beer on a sunny day.

The newer Era models do support BT if that's any help.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 9:28 am Stand alone Bluetooth speaker. One to sit on a shelf, not a smaller portable one.

Sonos Move. Can be part of your Sonos network or a BT speaker. Sound is excellent and they are rain and dust proof, not that I've tested that feature.
I wish they'd made them earlier as I have a number of Sonos Play One speakers in rooms I hardly use. The Move speakers, being portable, would be more flexible.

Re: Recommend me a speaker(s)
I was passing a Currys today so popped in to see what they had.
Not a massive range, but had a listen to the Sonos Move and the Bose equivalent Portable Home Speaker.
The Bose sound quality was noticeably better than that of the Sonos (and I really wanted to like the Sonos).

Re: Recommend me a speaker(s)
End of the Saga... I read some reviews about terrible Bose reliability relating to the battery, I went to Richer Sounds and had a proper listen to the Sonos and the smaller Audio Pro (T 3 or 5 or something), they didn't have any of the larger ones in.
Ended up buying the Sonos. It sounded much better than it did in Currys. I guess it all comes down to what you're streaming and how.
Anyways, it's being delivered on Friday and they even gave me an extra a tenner off for asking nicely.
Just as I was about to leave I remembered to asked about a Bluetooth receiver for my AV amp so I could have the deck in the other room and still play it over the AV amp/5.1 if I wanted... they'd just had one returned (due to being incompatible with the blokes systems, but none of the cables had been unwrapped and it looked new). They sold me it as an open box for £20 less than RRP.
I don't think you can beat Richer Sounds.

Re: Recommend me a speaker(s)
I'm sat listening to my new Move.
It's alright.
I don't like that you can have wireless or Bluetooth, but not both at the same time.
It's it's on Bluetooth mode it's not part of the Sonos ecosystem and you can't control it with the app, etc..
Just been listening to some Status Quo on the Bluetooth turntable and carrying the Move around to see what the range is like... it's massive.
Sounds pretty good, there's defo a massive difference in bass sound if you have the back of it nearer a wall (or you stand behind it).
