Yeah, the ADV was a step too far for me. (I used to volunteer to lead people around interesting roads when they'd booked a test ride at the local BMW dealer, usually on my own bike but one day they loaned me an Adv to try). I had an F800GS....meh...go for the Morini.Dickyboy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 1:45 pm I've tried the GS thing and whilst it's great for a number of reasons there were downsides too (mainly bulk & height) but at the end of the day it didn't suit what I wanted out of a bike, in reality I think a std GS rather than the Adventure model would have suited me better & I suspect that's true of a lot of the people who choose the adventure model over the std GS. At present I'm battling my inner demons, go sensible & get an F800GT or go crazy & go down the Morini 1200 scrambler route once you've had full panniers & top box it's hard to go without before I even consider spares availability on the Morini...

I used to put Renthals on all my sitty up bikes, standard naked bars always felt too narrow.
I don't know why people who weren't going around the world went for the Adventure, the 1st gear is too low and you lose the overdrive 6th. And what use is a huge tank if your arse is in tatters when it's still half full.
