Le Tour 23

Post by Count Steer »

Well, that was more fun than I expected. Thought day one might be a gentle warm up.

Won't say more in case people are watching on catch up, be we're off! That's my viewing sorted for a while.

In the past I would watch the Evening highlights show, but as I've now retired I'm planning on watching every stage with the GCN app.
The opening stage was entertaining

Blimey...the widest bit of the road for the whole day and it's been like dodgems.

There's a few big names who are coming to the end of the sprint game it seems.

Nice to hear Alaphilippe's name in there at the sharp end again though.

Jasper disaster (on not) showing why him and VdP are a force not to be taken lightly again.

Ewan and Bauhaus did really well. Cav just not quite there

Well, people have been pretty good about not posting spoilers so I thought it low risk. :D

I will be watching most of it after the first rest day though. Just had boring things to do today that took me hither, thither and yon.

Do you not think if he had a response he'd have used it today?

Well, there's a long way to go but it does look ominous. Nothing much from Ineos yet. It all seems a bit transitional at the moment, big names fading, a few new(ish) ones getting a moment in the spotlight.

I'm still not seeing anyone at INEOS who could realistically win a Tour at the moment. Let alone as a team hanging in on a battle, they're just a mile off.

Hindley, i think will be top 5 for Paris, maybe even 3rd, but i think Pog and Vingo have him overall. I'd love to be proven wrong though for sure.

I still think there's plenty of entertainment to come, but i do fear that P1 is signed and sealed very very early.

It's still a good watch though as it's not just about P1 in Paris. Every day is an event. (And the scenery is v nice :D )

Some folk seem to think Hindley has popped up from nowhere but he's won some significant events so hopefully he'll be in the mix a fair bit.

He's won the Giro and plenty of other stages/races, so he's a long long way from unknown.
